As you might have previously figured out if you've already been on a holiday with small sorts, happy kids = happy parents. And so it is at family-friendly Camping du Menhir in Brittany's Morbihan. The site has been welcoming families of all flavours since 1972 and run by Chantal and Joël since 2001, so we're fairly certain it knows of what it speaks when it comes to sorting out happy families... It has a widely varied activity and entertainment program for ages six to 12, along with sports tournaments for teens and evening events for all. A playground, trampoline and bouncy castle were added for the 2016 season. And there's a pool, with a waterslide... and the whole site is a paltry kilometre from a sandy beach, between the ocean and the Gulf of Morbihan. We see beaucoup happy family hols here for all ages. Camping du Menhir also has a sports court, a bar, a restaurant and a small shop selling essentials.

Local attractions

We've waxed lyrical before about magnificent Morbihan, and Camping du Menhir is in a well-placed spot for getting to the best of it. This is the Presqu'ile de Rhuys/Rhuys Peninsula area, a sea stretch of 42 kilometres of coast, many sandy beaches, much watersports, and plenty of traditional Breton fishing villages for traditional Breton seafood. Food markets are all over the region to bring Breton cuisine back to base. The peninsula is biking and hiking territory too, with over 73km of cycling trails around and a coastal path accessible 300 metres from the site. Kayaks are available for hire nearby, and you'll also find opps for boat trips and sailing. A golf course, along with shops, a casino and a spa and wellness centre, are all three kilometres away.
