  • Peaceful site at the foot of the Bosnian Pyramid of the Moon
  • A 10-minute drive from Ravne 2; walk to other Bosnian pyramids
  • Supermarket five minutes’ walk away from the site
As it's surrounded by Bosnia’s pyramids, saying that Padma Moon has pretty scenery might be considered an understatement. Many of the green, hilly domes are within walking distance of this peaceful place, and they’re visible from the site too, meaning that your morning pastries or evening drinks will have a rather special backdrop. There’s a shop just five minutes’ walk away from Padma Moon, so those aforementioned pastries and drinks should be simple to source. Pyramids and archaeological sites aside, the surrounding valley is a gorgeous wildlife haven, so it's a fabulous area for exploring on foot. Padma Moon is in a small village at the foot of the Bosnian Pyramid of the Moon, which is 15 minutes’ walk away and first of a series of the pyramids within 35 minutes’ walk of the site (Bosnian Pyramid of the Dragon, Bosanska piramida Ljubavi and Mother Earth included). The Bosnian Pyramid Of The Sun is 10 minutes’ drive away too. With basic but well-maintained facilities, this is a good little base for the Bosnian Pyramids indeed. Toilet and shower facilities are on hand to freshen you up after a day of exploring, and there are charging facilities to keep phones and other devices going on your walks.

Local attractions

Put your gears into motion and track down some sites that are old, old, old… and that isn’t just limited to the archeological sites around the Bosnian pyramids. For starters, Ravne 2 (10 minutes’ drive) is a prehistoric tunnel complex in Visoko. Guided meditation or archaeological tours are available to dish out all the details. The Old Town of Visoki (10 minutes) should be just as exciting for history aficionados, with its 14th-century hilltop castle. Šerefuddin džamija - Bijela Džamija (half an hour’s walk) is a little different from all of the former; the mosque was built in 1477 and its architecture is particularly spectacular. Perhaps you fancy a challenge in the form of a long walk – if so, the path by the Fojnička River (20 minutes) runs for 46 kilometres, and there are scenic walks indeed to be had on those banks.
