Set on the edge of the Ardennes Forest and just a five-minute drive from the centre of Spa, Camping Parc des Sources hits the spot for families wanting to rejuvenate in peace while still packing in lots of activities with the kids. So what’s on offer here? Plenty, actually. The site is all kitted out with play areas, climbing frames and trampolines for children, pétanque courts, table tennis and a swimming pool, which is the centre of life during the day. If that’s not enough for the kids, take them on go-karts and water rides at Plopsa Coo (20 minutes' drive) and car safaris to spot giraffes and zebras at Wild World Safari Park (25 minutes). Back on site, signposted walks lead into the forest for quiet strolls amid birdsong. You can hire mountain bikes (five minutes’ drive) to get further out into the Ardennes countryside, or be on the golf course in less than 10 minutes. There’s a restaurant too, so you can forget about cooking, and other amenities include drinking water, showers and toilets, a laundry room and a strong wifi connection. And for those of you just yearning to be pampered and downright spoiled, the wonderfully top-notch steam rooms, massages and thermal pools at Thermes de Spa (five minutes) are just waiting to get you back on your feet again.

Liked: Calm place, friendly staff. Has swimming pool.

Disliked: Limited options to buy food/drinks (only on machines). Toilets have no soap and need more frequent cleaning.

Disliked: Cigarette smoke lingered in shower room after cleaning.

Liked: Very nice site, great location for a 20 minute walk into Spa town centre. Lots to visit within 30 minute drive.

Disliked: The pitches are mainly sloping and require a significant number of levelling blocks. We booked a fully serviced pitch with water and waste points. There appeared to be no fully serviced pitches on the site. Toilet and shower blocks weren't very clean.

Liked: It is on grass

Disliked: It’s a bit strange. A campsite in August with nobody staying here. No use of swimming. It is the most expensive site we have stayed on, well over priced. The fact we were the only ones here and not able to choose our pitch. No one to speak to.

Liked: Pool was really nice, quiet site even though the F1 was on and the site was busy. Well maintained pitches with plenty of room.

Disliked: No soap in the toilets. Really shocked by this for personal hygiene but even more shocking as we are just coming out of a pandemic

Liked: Clean site, good location for the Grand Prix! Friendly staff and self check-in!

Disliked: Restaurant stopped serving food quite early. Paid for electrical hookup for our pitch but it was so far away from our spot that our 20m cable wouldn’t reach.

Local attractions

At Warfaaz Lake (five minutes’ drive) you can potter around on pedalos, and there’s kayaking and windsurfing on Lake Bütgenbach (40 minutes). Gileppe Lake AccroPark (20 minutes) has rope trails through thick forest as well as spectacular views over Gileppe Dam (25 minutes). Elsewhere, you can go deep underground at Les Grottes de Remouchamps (15 minutes) for boat trips though caves once inhabited by prehistoric tribes, and the ruins of medieval Franchimont Castle (20 minutes) have an interactive museum and screening room. To bring the history element of your holiday a bit more up to date, the World War II forts at Battice and Barchon (both 30 minutes) are open for guided tours. A few ideas to occupy the kids include mini-train rides through tunnels at Blegny-Mine (35 minutes) and binge tasting the sweet stuff at La Chocolaterie Darcis (20 minutes). Grown-up kids can test their mettle with a drive around the track at Spa-Francorchamps circuit (20 minutes).

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.

Arrivals and departures

If the reception is closed on arrival, please check in at the restaurant.
Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.

Dogs

Dogs are not allowed if you are staying in the accommodation units.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.

Motorbike(s) can be brought instead of the car(s) included.

General

In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
Quiet hours must be respected between 10:30 p.m. and 8 a.m..
Refunds within the indicated cancellation period are only possible if the site is able to relet your unit/pitch.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.
