Bushland adventures are well and truly on the menu at Breeze Holiday Parks - Grampians – this well-equipped Victoria site five minutes' drive from the village of Halls Gap is in a prime position for guests aiming to explore the bushlands of Grampians National Park (10 minutes’ drive away). With its kid-friendly facilities – including a playground with climbing structures, a jumping pillow and pedal karts (not to mention a games room and heaps of space in which children can chase each other around) – the holiday park is particularly appealing to families. And if you’re travelling with your dog, there’s an area where you can let them have a good run off the leash. Meanwhile the grown-ups can swim a few laps in the outdoor pool or just relax on the poolside. Spectacular natural landscapes await just the other side of Halls Gap, with climbing routes at Chatauqua Peak, far-reaching views at Pinnacle Lookout and rockpools at Venus Baths. All of these attractions are about five minutes away by car. If you wish to cast your net a little further, there are hiking trails at the Grand Canyon (10 minutes) and dramatic cascades at MacKenzie Falls (25 minutes). During your wanderings, keep an eye out for kangaroos and wallabies, plus colourful birdlife. For watersports, you can head to Lake Bellfield (10 minutes) or Wartook Reservoir (half an hour), which are also popular spots for picnicking and boating. Back at the site, you can make friends while sipping a brew around the communal campfire or as you prepare a meal in the camp kitchen. Barbecues are allowed, and you can buy provisions in Halls Gap.

Cabin (no pets, value)

Liked: The price was cheap. It was quiet pre-Easter. Booking was easy. Friendly staff.

Disliked: Bedding hadn't been shaken out in a long time! Sit on bed and dust particles absolutely filled the air. No couch. Microwave did not work, except for 1 button (the 1 minute reheat button). The small fridge had been set on high so all my veggies, etc. froze. Air conditioner was quite slow to cool the metal box when returned in the afternoon.

Liked: Nice and clean accomodation with plenty of space outside for kids to play

Disliked: Lack of proper mobile signal and wifi

Liked: The comfortable, clean appointment of the cabin . Very cosy .

Disliked: It was a very wet two days and we had to avoid puddles near the entrance .

Local attractions

Halls Gap Zoo (five minutes’ drive) is home to more than 150 species of animals – both native to Australia (wallabies, kangaroos, Tasmanian devils) and exotic (red pandas, cheetahs, alligators). They also run a number of animal experiences, so this is the place to visit if you want to pet a dingo, feed a giraffe or have meerkats climb all over you. You don’t have to believe in ghosts (though it probably helps…) to book a place on the spooktacular Aradale Ghost Tours, Ararat Lunatic Asylum (40 minutes). The setting alone (a former mental hospital) is enough to give anyone chills – but the place is really brought to life when coupled with the harrowing, haunting stories of its residents (narrated by theatrical guides). One for birdwatchers: between July and April, Point Danger Gannet Colony (two hours and 20 minutes) becomes a nesting ground for these seabirds. This is the only mainland gannet colony in Australia, and you can watch as the birds rear their chicks, fledge and dive into the waters looking for food.

Admission

All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.
Unsupervised minors must have a letter of authorisation from their parents or legal guardian.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
The site will send you further check-in information 2 day(s) before your arrival.

Changes to your holiday

Changes cannot be made once you have booked.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.

General

Discount cards and gift vouchers cannot be applied to bookings made via Pitchup.com.
In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.
The site is not liable for any refund in the event of force majeure.
