Looking for restful stays in a green Cornish valley? Then wend your way westwards to Forge Manor Farm Certificated Location, a splendid adults-only Caravan and Motorhome Club spot (for guests aged over 16) within spitting distance of the sea. The harbour town of Portreath, gateway to the Godrevy Heritage Coast, can be reached within five minutes by road. Venturing further afield in the county is a doddle too, with easy access to the A30 helping guests get to and fro. Forge Manor Farm has 20 acres of former farmland to amble through, making this a prime site for rural chilling out. In keeping with this theme, facilities are low-key, but handily there's free wifi for those who want it. The folks who run this place want you to enjoy outdoor living to the max, meaning that dogs and barbecues are more than welcome. Those venturing off base will find a handy local café and riverside pub under a mile away in the neighbouring village of Bridge. Getting about on two wheels is highly recommended: bikes can be hired at Portreath for seaside cycles or, for inland explores, at Paynters Lane End (5 minutes' drive). To stock up on supplies, head to the nearest supermarket, a five-minute drive towards the A30.

Local attractions

The Godrey Heritage Coast, a nature reserve with towering cliffs, golden sands and seal-watching opportunities, can be accessed by car, bike or on foot from Portreath. Linger in this pleasant town for fish and chips, a seaside pint or to try your hand at surfing (gear hire and lessons are available at the beach). These parts are a hub for outdoor wanderers of all kinds. The Mineral Tramways trail, a traffic-free network of paths that goes deep in Cornwall's historic mining region, is close 'by (five minutes' drive). The hardiest hikers can tackle a stretch the long-distance South West Coast Path; head for Tehidy for the Tehidy Deadman's Cove Circular Walk for a more easy-going jaunt (10 minutes). Stick around here for the historic manor and park. Further afield, Perranporth (20 minutes) has a golf course, miniature golf, top surf schools and a seawater lido for active times. Meanwhile, artsy St Ives (25 minutes) draws painters from far and wide, being home to galleries including Tate St Ives and Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden. Fab Falmouth (30 miles) is likely to please all the family, whether you're drawn by Pendennis Castle, the maritime museum or the beach and rookpools at Gyllyngvase.

Booking terms and conditions

Admission

All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Guests under the age of 18 are not allowed on site.
This site only accepts bookings from existing Caravan and Motorhome Club members: please provide your membership number in the 'Special requests' box when booking.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

General

Blue WC chemicals are not permitted.
Bookings must not be for more than 28 consecutive nights.
Discount cards and gift vouchers cannot be applied to bookings made via Pitchup.com.
In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
Public areas are non-smoking.
Quiet hours must be respected between 12 a.m. and 10 a.m..
Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and boots must be closed quietly.
Refunds within the indicated cancellation period are only possible if the site is able to relet your unit/pitch.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.
The site is not liable for any refund in the event of force majeure.
