  • A 10-minute drive to the South West Coast Path; Truro 20 minutes
  • Views to St Ives and St Agnes Beacon; pubs and shops 20 minutes’ walk
Set on the outskirts of St Agnes village in Cornwall, St Agnes Caravan Site is a neatly manicured caravan and tourer site with a big USP – truly spectacular views over the north coast to the landmark Gwithian Lighthouse and St Ives on a distant headland. And there’s more. The family-owned site is surrounded by farmland and if you look inland, countryside views stretch as far as Carn Brea (20 minutes’ drive) and St Agnes Beacon (10 minutes). You’re almost guaranteed vibrant sunrises and sunsets, and hopefully there’ll be at least one clear evening so you can witness the starry sky after dark. St Agnes Caravan Site has spacious and level grass pitches around the perimeter of the field, leaving the central area open for you and the kids to enjoy safey. Each pitch has a picnic bench, illuminated supply points with fresh drinking water and an electric hook-up – but there are no toilets or showers. Grey water and chemical-waste disposal points are clearly marked nearby. Refuse, dog and recycling bins are discreetly fenced near to the exit. There’s a small field adjacent to the pitches for well-behaved dog walks – but please keep them on leads and pick up after them as you go. And even better for your four-legged friends, the site has direct access onto a cycle and walking path that leads to St Agnes (20 minutes’ walk). You’ll never go hungry in St Agnes either, as the village has convenience stores, specialist food shops and cafés, as well as several pubs, restaurants and takeaways.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Everything. Just what we wanted, peace and quiet, kids and dogs allowed so yes a bit of noise. Our little dog wants to meet everyone so can be a bit noisy in the day but always quiet at night. Hosts Lucy & Martin were great and Martin takes pride in his grass and its impeccably looked after. Our 7 night stay turned out to be 16 nights. It's in easy reach of the whole of Cornwall with fantastic views even if relaxing on the site, will we be going again ? That's for sure. Lucy & Martin have a wonderfully placed site and we loved it.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Easy access, large level pitches, Lucy & Martin are a lovely couple. Originally booked tor 7 nights but extended to 10 nights before we even arrived. A few days here and we further extended for another 6 nights. Very quiet site ( our little dog excluded as he wanted to meet everyone). Grass pitches are kept excellent by Martin who loves to keep it nice and short. On posting this review we are still here for 6 more nights. Will we come here again ? That's a big yes even at 300 miles from home.

Disliked: Not a dislike as such but no facilities other than a laundry room with washer/dryer might put people off. We have our own so it was no problem.

Liked: Fabulous large pitches, grass cut short which I always find to be important. Really liked having it own picnic table too. The hosts were really friendly, checking often that we were enjoying our stay. Beautiful views across to Godrevy Lighthouse and St Agnes Beacon. Lovely footpath into the village. Very good value washing machine and tumble dryer. Good recycling facilities.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: The site was immaculate and very well maintained. Spacious pitches, well marked out with each pitch having its own picnic table were additional pluses. The well signposted disposal points were spotlessly clean and the site had the advantage of a Laundry and Drying Room - fortunately not needed ! Martin and Lucy were friendly, approachable and accommodating hosts - letting us know where to go locally Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back again as there is so much more to see

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: St Agnes Caravan Site offers a fantastic location that combines convenience and natural beauty. Situated just 10 minutes from the A30 or a pleasant 15-minute walk to St Agnes, you’ll find everything you need within reach, from groceries and pharmacies to fish and chips, charming pubs, and even a renowned bakery. Upon arrival at the site, we were immediately impressed by the spaciousness of the pitches. It seemed like there wasn’t a bad spot to choose from. Making a decision became a delightful challenge, as each direction offered breathtaking views that stretched for miles. We were fortunate enough to witness magical sunsets every evening, adding a touch of enchantment to our stay. The care and attention given to the grounds were evident in the maintenance of the grass on the pitches. It was impeccably cut, resembling a well-manicured cricket pitch. Additionally, the central area of the field was left slightly longer, allowing vibrant wildflowers to grow freely. This created an idyllic meadow-like setting, enhancing the overall charm and immersion in nature. St Agnes Caravan Site provides excellent amenities to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The electric and water points are strategically positioned, ensuring convenient access. The grey water and Elson points are well-maintained, offering cleanliness and ease of use. Although I’m unsure about the availability of site-wide Wi-Fi, we had no issues using our own 4G/5G connection, which worked perfectly throughout our stay. Oh, and there is a laundry onsite if you need. Beyond the site itself, the location of St Agnes Caravan Site is a gateway to a wealth of nearby attractions and conveniences. The proximity to St Agnes village allows for easy exploration of its charming offerings. Whether you’re seeking provisions, a quick bite, or a delightful pub experience, everything is within reach. We particularly enjoyed indulging in local fish and chips and treating ourselves to goodies from the renowned bakery. Martin and Lucy Docking, the owners of St Agnes Caravan Site, deserve special mention for their exceptional dedication and warm hospitality. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that they take great pride in providing a memorable experience for their guests. Their extensive knowledge of the local area was invaluable. They provided us with valuable tips and recommendations, from nearby attractions to hidden gems that we wouldn’t have discovered otherwise. Their insight added depth and richness to our exploration of St Agnes and its surroundings.

Disliked: Going home

Local attractions

St Agnes sits on the spectacular north Cornish coastline with many scenic walks. Pack the swimming costumes and head for Trevaunace Cove (40 minutes’ walk) or Chapel Porth (an hour) beaches for surfing, kayaking and fishing. For longer hikes, join the South West Coast Path (10 minutes’ drive) to plunge down to hidden coves and head uphill once more for soaring clifftop views. One of the centres of Cornwall’s mining heritage, St Agnes (20 minutes’ walk) is steeped in industrial history and has a small namesake museum with displays on tin and copper mining. To learn more (and channel your inner Poldark), explore the long-abandoned mines and chimneys at Wheal Coates or remote Great Wheal Charlotte (both 10 minutes’ drive). Exploring a little further afield, the cathedral city of Truro (20 minutes) has a lively gourmet scene with lots of bars and bistros selling Cornish seafood. As well as being Cornwall’s surfing mecca, Newquay (half an hour) turns up a picture-perfect fishing harbour to amble around, waterside pubs and a full schedule of summer cultural events.
