  • Off-grid, dog-friendly bell tent with Cornish valley views
  • A 20-minute drive from Bodmin Moor and 25 minutes from the coast
  • Firepit, barbecue, kitchen, outdoor seating and woodburning stove
A private woodland with Cornish valley views, 20 minutes’ drive from Bodmin Moor and 25 minutes from fishing villages and coves? Yes, please… Cornish Valley Outdoors Glamping really doesn’t play around when it comes to a peaceful, exclusive and luxurious Cornish bell tent retreat. The fully-furnished bell tent is based on a single-pitch, stunning woodland destination on the edge of a working livestock farm. It may be off-grid, but there's the luxury of hot running water and a flushing toilet in the fully-fitted bathroom, as well as gas stove cooking facilities. Atmospheric? No doubt. Outside the bell tent there’s a woodburning stove provided with an initial set of logs and firelighters and a firepit, barbecue and outdoor seating. All bed linen and towels are provided for the double bed and two single futons and there’s crockery and cooking equipment too. Four people (plus dogs if you like) will find this a very fitting place for their east Cornwall countryside break – it's particularly peaceful with limited mobile signal. Those who want to get out over country styles and lanes will have no trouble either, as there are plenty of footpaths and walks in the surrounding area. A car is an essential, as the site is tucked away down narrow Cornish lanes. There’s parking just below the site for one car and additional cars can be parked up at the farm. The A38 is four and a half miles away for travels over Cornwall, whether to the coast (25 minutes’ drive) or Bodmin Moor (20 minutes). The nearest village, Menheniot (10 minutes) has a pub, a local shop, a takeaway, bakery and a bus stop. For more handy stuff like shops, banks, cafés, pubs and pharmacies, the towns of Liskeard (15 minutes) and Callington (15 minutes) are on hand too.

Local attractions

Buckets and spades, hiking boots, swimming gear… get it all ready, as coastal paths, the fishing village of Looe (25 minutes’ drive) and Seaton beach (25 minutes) are all within reach. There are kayaks and paddleboards for hire on Seaton beach and similar activities take place on the rivers in the Tamar Valley AONB (half an hour) too. Oh, to be in the moors… wild granite moorlands, rivers and hills all await in Bodmin Moor. You’ll be at some of the moor’s spectacular walks in a flash: these might include Hurlers Stone Circles (25 minutes), the Golitha Falls National Nature Reserve (20 minutes) and The Cheesewring (25 minutes). Not quite done with your adventures yet? Adrenalin Quarry Ltd (15 minutes) will round an adventurous itinerary off nicely. The flooded quarry venue runs zipwires, a clifftop swing and coasteering.
