  • Basic campsite with spectacular Cornish valley views
  • The Eden Project and Polperro half an hour’s drive; Looe 20 minutes
  • South-facing camping meadow; pubs, shops and A38 five minutes’ drive
Set at the top of a gorgeous valley with classic Cornish views and just five minutes from the A38, Boduel Valley is a great base for your Cornwall explorations. Mentioned in the Domesday Book, the area of ‘Boduel’ means ‘house of sunshine’ in Cornish. Hopefully you’ll get lots of sunshine, as on the outskirts of Dobwalls, the site is in a grassy meadow at the top of a south-facing valley with spectacular views towards Bodmin Moor and the south coast. This is a basic campsite, with a hot shower, toilets and a cold-water tap. Park up anywhere on the six-acre meadow and get ready to take in the views. You are guaranteed to have lots of space well away from the other campers in the huge field. There’s wildlife galore, so keep your eyes peeled for wild deer, as well as the buzzards that nest in the valley. Watch out too for colourful sunsets and sunrises when conditions are right. Spark up the barbecue (on a raised firepit please), and pick up anything you need from the local supermarkets in Liskeard (five minutes’ drive). Liskeard has not only major supermarkets, but takeaways, pubs and shops too. There are also pubs five minutes' drive away too. The site has handy road and rail connections. If you prefer to leave the car at home, it’s 20 minutes’ walk from Liskeard train station along quiet country lanes to the campsite. If you fancy it, catch the Looe Valley train to Coombe Junction for the beach in Looe; the station is a short walk away.

Non-electric grass and earth tent pitch

Liked: What a great location for a campsite - just a few minutes off the A38! We used it as a base to explore the coast and moor and the views on site were spectacular. A lot of thought has gone into the facilities too, there were even fairy lights in the compost toilet so it lit up at night. Just gorgeous. Would definitely recommend.

Disliked: Nothing
