Liked: Nothing
Disliked: Everything On arrival, very laid back and the girls in the cafe didnt really know what we were there for or who would know. A maybe 10 year old girl was asked to get her parents (farm owners) to attend but was sent back to say we could check in early and literaly pointed where to go with a finger!!!. We got to the "shed" and we were gravely disappointed, worst thing was the shed is literally alongside a hedge with a main road behjnd it!!! A basic bed, no blankets, 2 USB points with dim lighting strips, a joke for the price. The shower was a let down, a roof would be handy if rains and OMG the eco toilet was 10ft drop hole!! Full of cobwebs and 150ft away from cabin through long grass! We told the owner we could not sleep in the "cabin with a view" with the noise from the road on this "peaceful and tranquil campsite" - accurately it should read shed in a cow field with no view as bushes on opposite side of the field were overgrown!! We looked at one of the bell tents and there was no organisation, owner didn't seem to know if there was any empty one or not but all were wet throughout anyway. We drove off and travelled home a day early - £85 per night AN ABSOLUTE RIP OFF AND PITCH UP NEED TO STOP BOOKING THIS DREADFUL PLACE! If only we could get a refund.....

Liked: The view is stunning, the farm shop/bar is beautiful and perfect for a sundowner. The facilities were perfect for wild camping and the shower was one of the best I ever have used. The whole experience was fantastic and the host Sarah was very laid back and super helpful. Dog friendly…..
Disliked: Nothing it was great

Liked: The view
Disliked: Poor facilities, washing up was a single sink in a field with only cold water, only one shower which was a wooden box with grass growing through the floor and no roof, we didn't use it as it was raining. Quite a long walk to the toilets. No site information leaflet.

Liked: This camp site was perfect, the most incredible views and a cold beer after a long day of cycling. Shower was basic but hot, wet and open to the sky. We were sad not to be staying longer and not to have space in our bags for food from the farm shop.

£40 per night is laughable - don't go!

Non-electric grass and earth tent pitch
Liked: The weather, the view and the fact that it was lovely and quiet - non of which can be credited to the campsite owners, except perhaps the latter as it is obviously an unpopular campsite for good reason!
Disliked: The owners are not interested in the campsite which is actually just a field. On arrival, we were directed to the field by pointing at the entrance gate from the farm shop and told that there was a compost toilet in the middle of the field which we later found out to be false! In fact, the description on Pitch-up is very misleading and had we known what actual 'facilities' were available, we would never have booked. There is NO compost toilet on the field as stated. Also, it states that there are toilets and showers at the farm shop - there are NO showers, just dirty toilets and one towel for drying hands which was never changed! In the field there is one outdoor shower, which is in a wooden cubicle with grass and weeds growing through the floorboards and no roof. The shower water is either scorching hot or cold. There is nowhere to hang your towel or clothing. The shower head is attached to the wall with a cable tie. The outdoor sink is ingrained in dirt - I don't think these 'facilities' have ever been cleaned or cared for. Compost toilets are definitely needed in the field - it's quite a walk at night if you need to go to the bathroom and one open-air shower is just not good enough. I opted to 'shower' in the sea instead during my stay. There was plenty of opportunity for the owners to ask us if everything was ok - but they never did. They are more interested in the shop and cafe which are very expensive and lots of items have no prices so it can be a shock when you arrive at the till to pay. I returned one item which was double the price that I normally pay! We stayed for two nights as we had birthday meals booked in Port Isaac and couldn't find anywhere else to stay so last minute, but decided to leave earlier than planned as I couldn't bare another night staying here. Instead, we moved to one of our favourite campsites on the south coast which is cheaper and so much better equipped - a real campsite with actual facilities, electric hook-up and even better sea views :-) We paid £120 for the privilege of staying here for 2 nights (having left a day early). £40 per night for a tent pitch in a field with these 'facilities' is laughable. We only live an hour away so although it was a disappointing birthday break, at least we hadn't wasted a full summer holiday on this place. It saddens me that others may travel to Cornwall and have their holiday ruined. Don't make the same mistake as us - there are plenty of lovely campsites in Cornwall with owners who actually value their customers and care about more than just making a quick quid! Pitch-up really need to take on board these comments too and amend their listing - you can't state facilities which are just not there!

Non-electric grass and earth tent pitch
Liked: We stayed in the cabin with the kids pitching a tent next door. The location has wonderful views down to the sea and is within striking distance of beaches such as Polzeath and Trebarwith Strand, both of which we always enjoy on our Cornwall visits. It is relatively basic but the cabin was pretty well kitted out and has a outdoor shower and sink and is supplied with a fire pit and small barbecue complete with utensils. USB charging points working off solar panel. Plates, cups etc for 4 also provided. Composting toilet in the corner of the field with indoor toilets available within the same building as the farm shop. As long as you realise that is what you are getting - it is very pleasant. Owner was helpful.
Disliked: The cabin is located quite close to the road so does suffer a little from the car noise. The bell tents are in a separate field that is further from the road and may therefore be more peaceful.

Liked: Beautiful views overlooking the sea and enjoying the sunset, spacious area with hot shower provided, toilets in barn area clean and accessible 24/7, lovely farm shop for local produce and a drink watching the sea views.
Disliked: There was a lack of hosting, not shown where the facilities were, key to the cabin for security was unable to be located therefore the cabin was not locked the whole of the trip, the eco toilet was not cleaned from previous people and the hosts were not as contactable as could have been if a problem occurred
