  • Luxury glamping in the woods, 15 minutes' drive from King's Lynn
  • Half an hour's drive from the north Norfolk coast
  • Play area, hammocks, hot tub and firepits on site
Bubble in a hot tub while gazing up into the treetops, cuddle up with the family and some supper round the firepit, or stretch out in a hammock while the nippers amuse themselves in traditional manner on the rope swing. And… relax. This happy place is Happy Valley Glamping, set on nine acres of gorgeous open space and woodland protected by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust, with heaps of space for chilling out, picnics, bike rides and leisurely walks on site and the adjacent 200 acres of woodland. If you’re looking to stretch your legs beyond the site, it's 15 minutes’ drive from Kings Lynn and less than half an hour from the gorgeous north Norfolk coastline. Scott and Katy have gone out of their way to provide all the necessaries (and then some) for a cosy, comfy stay: each glamping unit has its own fully-equipped kitchen, handcrafted beds and a woodburning stove or radiator, along with a barbecue and firepit for alfresco eves. Hot waterfall showers and proper toilets are a short walk away, and your hosts can provide hampers or barbecue packs for fuss-free feasting. For cosy indoor times, there’s a collection of books and games to borrow. Also around the the site are a play area for the small sorts and various swings and hammocks hung in the trees. Plus of course that smashing hot tub – all yours to enjoy for an extra fee... and with advance warning so it can be stoked up in readiness. please.

Local attractions

It’s not often you get the chance to take a peek inside the Queen’s house, so you’d best take the opportunity to visit Sandringham 15 minutes’ drive away while you’re here. The huge estate has heaps to see as you wander round the gardens, country park, museum and areas of the house. Other historic attractions locally include Houghton House (one of the UK’s finest Palladian mansions and home to an excellent contemporary sculpture garden) and the minster and Lynn Museum in King’s Lynn. Both are around 15 minutes away by car. For a dose of sea air, it’s a half-hour drive to Hunstanton on the north Norfolk coast. Head up here for beach days, coastal walks, watersports, birdwatching at RSPB Titchwell Marsh, and boat trips in search of seals. If you’ve got kids to amuse, it’s also worth stopping in at Snettisham Park to meet the farm animals as you head to or from the coast.
