  • Peaceful family-friendly site surrounded by the Cambridgeshire Fens
  • Walking distance from several nature reserves including Holme Fen
  • On-site carp and specimen fishing lake with day tickets available
Drove End Farm is a peaceful spot surrounded by the Cambridgeshire Fens. In the little village of Ramsey Heights, this family-friendly site is down a private drive with a no-through road on the way to Ramsey Heights Nature Reserve, Great Fen and the Great Raveley Drain. At this four-acre site you’ll be primed for a spot of fishing in the on-site lake. The one-acre lake is stocked with carp and other specimen fish, so you may like to buy a day ticket and see what you can reel in. With several nature reserves within walking distance of the site, naturally, walking and cycling are another calm way to spend the day around here. Or you might choose to just sit in your grassy plot and watch the wildlife go by. It’s a rich place to see what you can spot, as there are very few facilities to spoil the peace – that means no toilets, showers or dishwashing area – and all rubbish and recycling must be taken off the site. You will have access to fresh water from taps and chemical waste points here, though. When the time calls to treat yourself to some tasty food, the village’s bigger sibling, Ramsey Town, is a good place to go 10 minutes’ drive away. There’s a supermarket, butchers, bakery and several takeaways for bits to take back with you and when you fancy being waited on a little, there are restaurants and pubs here too.
