  • Private Worcestershire glamping location deep in the Teme Valley
  • A quarter of an hour's drive from Tenbury Wells; Worcester 35 minutes
  • Off-grid furnished tents with a shared kitchen area
For a proper Worcestershire wildlife experience, how about taking yourself off to Hanley Mill Glamping, a very rural site about a quarter of an hour's drive from the spa town of Tenbury Wells? Balancing an off-grid farm feel with no-fuss pre-pitched accommodation, this is a comfortable and convenient spot for breaks away surrounded by the gorgeous scenery of the Teme Valley. Set on a small private estate, this site has excellent uninterrupted valley views and is close to lots of traffic-free footpaths. While the individual units vary, all are tastefully decked out with proper beds and soft furnishings and have access to their own private toilet and outdoor seating area, plus a shared kitchen area and a shower block with hot water. The site also has solar lights. The accommodation is spaced out nicely among the greenery to ensure a feeling of privacy, and there's very little noise at night owing to the site's location in a 30-acre valley at the end of a long drive that's a fair distance from the main road. Hanley's village centre is about a mile and three quarters to the south of Hanley Mill Glamping, where there are a couple of local pubs should you wish to eat out. For supermarkets, takeaways or a visit to the nearest farm shop, Tenbury Wells is your best bet.

Emperor bell tent

Liked: Hanley Mill Glamping is the ideal place to get away from all the stresses of daily life. Set in the Worcestershire hills, you will be transported to a different reality. Views are incredible and the glamping site has absolutely everything you can possibly need or imagine. Belinda and her husband have really thought of everything. Each glamping pod is spacious and comfortable and has its own toilet nearby saving you to have to wonder around the site with a torch at night. The bed was really comfortable in the emperor tent and we had some amazing night sleeps sorrounded by true silence. Belinda and her husband are lovely to talk to and are very knowledgeable about the local area. Wether you're looking for a pub grub, Michelin star restaurants or local places to visit, they have got you covered. On site they also sell their own produce and camping essentials at really reasonable prices. The communication with them was fast, efficient and detailed as they really care about what they and their costumers. I could not really recommend this place enough and we are looking forward to being back soon

Disliked: There is nothing we disliked about Hanley Mill Glamping and there is nothing that can be disliked. My only suggestion would be to perhaps have a little outdoor gazebo area where to be repaired from the sun during the hot hours of the day without having to be inside the tent as it can get very hot

Luna bell tent (pet friendly)

Liked: This place is a dream. The hosts are so lovely and extremely helpful. Belinda was happy to help with anything. The photos of this place do not do it justice at all! It is absolutely stunning. They have created such a place to stay with literally everything you could need. The tents are very clean and comfy! Best nights sleep I've maybe ever had! The bath is such a fun addition and 100% worth a try! Thank you so much for having us this weekend. ❤️ We will 100% be returning and bringing friends.

Local attractions

Hanley Williams, the nearest village, is surrounded by gorgeous Worcestershire countryside and crisscrossed by walks and bridleways, with the popular Worcestershire Way and Three Rivers Ride trails close by. For more walks, it's easy to get to Church Stretton and the Shropshire Hills (45 minutes' drive), an area of outstanding natural beauty known as 'Little Switzerland', or to explore country trails in the Malvern Hills (roughly 20 minutes to the south). Tenbury Wells (15 minutes) should be on the agenda too, as this elegant town – which was apparently very popular with Queen Victoria – has an impressive 18th-century bridge, the spectacular Pump Rooms and other graceful buildings to admire. The town, which still hosts a regular market, is also home to many independent shops, cafés and tea rooms and hosts a number of festivals throughout the year. A little bit further afield, you could make a day of it in Worcester (35 minutes), explore the medieval streets and castle at Ludlow (30 minutes) or head to Hay-on-Wye (an hour), a book town on the very edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park with an annual literary festival in late spring.
