  • Luxurious bell tent with rural views near Retford in Nottinghamshire
  • A 20-minute drive from Clumber Park and Sundown Adventureland
  • Sole use of site; outdoor kitchen and firepit; pub 10 minutes’ walk
If you’re after total peace and quiet, and not too much human interaction at all, you’re looking in the right place, for Southfields Bell Tents offers exclusive use of the whole site – yes, you can have it all to yourself. In fact, your only company is likely to be the two miniature donkeys Ava and Molly, grazing happily in a neighbouring field. Located in a rural setting near Retford in Nottinghamshire, cosily luxurious accommodation is in a prettied-up glamping bell tent sleeping two (ideal for couples looking for a bit of together time), although it is possible to add in another single bed. Linen is provided, but please bring your own towels. A firepit and outdoor camping kitchen are provided, so you can spark up a barbecue and eat outside at the wooden picnic table on warmer days. Don’t fancy barbecuing? Just take a stroll down to the foodie pub in Egmanton village – it’s only 10 minutes on foot so you can leave the car behind and make a night of it. Just one thing – as there isn’t any electricity at the glampsite, remember to take a torch with you so you can find your way back to the bell tent. No need to fret about keeping in touch with the outside world though: there is a facility available for charging phones and tablets.

Bell tent

Liked: You are made to feel so welcome when you arrive, which is lovely after a long car journey. The site itself is beautiful. The tent is magical with lots of fairy lights and soft furnishings to make it feel extra special. You get your own field with an outdoor, equipped kitchen; various seating options with cushions and blankets (perfect for stargazing) . It truly felt like luxurious camping. There were so many thoughtful little touches that prove Jane is the perfect hostess. We will definitely be returning!

Disliked: Can't think of a thing.

Bell tent

Liked: There was nothing not to like here. The host Jane went out her way to make sure we had a great stay. The tent and kitchen area is well equipped. All you really need is your food for the bbq. Jane had even put out fresh flowers and biscuits for us. We had the whole pitch to ourselves. There is no other tents. There is a lovely pub about a 5 minute walk away. Would highly reccomend staying here!

Disliked: There is no dislikes. The only small thing is the toilet is a bit of a walk near to the owners house but no further then if you were camping on a campsite.

Bell tent

Liked: We had a lovely stay here overnight, on arrival Jane was there to meet us and show us around. The tent was laid out lovely, a double air mattress with a single one for my daughter. Lovely bedding & plenty of blankets. There is a fire pit just outside the tent, with some benches to enjoy the fire. The host's sell firewood which will keep the fire burning for hours. A little kitchenette is also outside the tent, with all the amenities to make hot drinks or cook food. Even all the utensils! Fresh water was available for us, the host also put biscuits out for us. There is no electric to the tent, however with just a short walk there is a toilet and shower room with a little kitchen attached with electric to charge your technology. The best part was definitely spending the evening with the host's two donkeys in the next field! Lovely stay, thank you again.

Disliked: Maybe we will return when the weather is a little warmer and less wet!
