Wow, anyone who pitches up at Dukeries Retreat is in for a treat. This is glamping with real style, with excellent facilities and plenty to do nearby. The site is set on seven acres on the edge of Barnby Moor village in north Nottinghamshire, in a spot that's got fabulous views of the countryside but is just a five-minute walk from a luxury spa, a gastropub and an Indian restaurant. Guests from each bell tent have access to a private well-finished toilet and shower a short walk away. Tents sleep up to five with flexible bed layouts for families or friends, and each is kitted out with bed linen and a hotel-style finish (think towels, bedside tables, lamps and so on – it’s all there, ready and waiting for you). There’s an electricity supply with plugs for charging devices, plus a kettle and an electric heater to keep everyone cosy too. Outside each tent is a private hot tub (surely the top spot for sunset…) along with a garden bar, seating, a hammock and a firepit, which comes with a griddle for alfresco dining. There’s no excuse for not cooking as all utensils are included too, and camping gas stoves are available to hire on site. Everything else you need is provided in the communal kitchen (which has a fridge/freezer and microwave), and out in the field there’s a communal-use pizza oven and field shelter too, with a few outdoor games provided. Chances are you’ll never get to that spa, pub or restaurant after all…

Deluxe yurt (hot tub, no pets)

Liked: We have just returned from 2 nights at Dukeries Retreat and it was amazing! 😍 we got a very warm welcome from Michael upon arrival, the bell tents, site and private toilet are immaculate! There was everything you could possibly need here for a relaxing get away. Bbq, private hot tub, bar area with your own fridge and all kitchen utensils. There is a games room where you can borrow outdoor games to take around to your tent. There’s a communal kitchen area for any overflow you may have. Seating area is available outside your tent or if there’s a group of you there’s large spaces with outdoor pizza ovens. We stayed here with our two young children aged 4 and 7, we felt relaxed enough to let them run through the fields, it was all secure and gated up & you could watch them at all times. The views are amazing, local shops, village and town are all within a 5/10 minute car ride. We would highly recommend the Dukeries retreat, and will most defiantly return 🙂
