Galician beach break anyone? When you choose to stay at FozCamp, a quiet, well-kept campsite on the Paseo Marítimo de Foz, five minutes’ walk from the edge of Foz, you have the choice of several beaches on which to languish, be it the surfing beaches at Llas (five minutes’ walk) and Rapadoira (20 minutes), or the famed Playa de las Catedrales (20 minutes’ drive) punctuated by spectacular sea arches. Lined by colourful hydrangea plants, the neat grass pitches sit under the partial shade of olive and palm trees, close to a small play area with swings. The whitewashed central hub of the campsite contains handy amenities such as a washing machine, dryer, bathrooms with baby-changing tables and hot water in the showers, as well as a reception and a licensed terrace café for snacks and drinks. If you’re sticking with self-catering, barbecues are allowed on site, but you also have the option to meander along the Paseo Marítimo de Foz into lively Foz with its gourmet restaurants and vibrant nightlife. In addition, the campsite is a handy stop on the Camino de Santiago, offering a comfortable and peaceful spot for pilgrims to rest up and re-energise.

Llas (10 minutes’ walk) and Rapadoira (20 minutes) beaches are known for consistent and varied waves suitable for all surfing skill levels; several schools offer lessons and gear rental, and there are surfing competitions all year round that bring in the big names of the sport. You can also hire canoes and kayaks to paddle along the rugged coastline, speed things up on jet skis or go scuba diving in crystal-clear waters to discover the rich marine life of the Lugo shores, while anyone into sport fishing can join a local boat trip or try their hand at catching supper from the beach. Moving back on to dry land, explore pretty seaside Foz (15 minutes) on foot, or cycle along the Paseo Marítimo de Foz to admire Bay of Biscay views along the Galician coast. Pack a picnic and stop off at the sweeping stretch of sand at Playa de las Catedrales (20 minutes’ drive) – be sure to take your camera to snap the dramatic sea arches on the beach.

喜欢 Everything. Location was directly opposite superb extensive promenade with cycle path running alongside giving access to beautiful beaches. Staff were very welcoming and their local knowledge gave us some superb days out. Facilities were very good and immaculately clean. Having a bar onsite was great to meet other fellow travellers. Hopefully be back one day. Thank you Mara and partner.

喜欢 We arrived to a great welcome from Jesus and Mara. Our time on site was excellent. The showers. Washing facilities. Toilets. Camp ground. Access to beach. Access to town. Jesus and Mara were so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. They work amazingly hard and we can only commend them for their hospitality. We would recommend this sight as No1 in this area of Spain. We stayed 11 nights. We have enjoyed every minute. Our dog Coco will miss the beach. Till next time guys. Thanks again. Xx

喜欢 On 26th of September to foz camp .when arriving at the campsite we were met by a lovely young couple. We stayed at the site for 2 weeks ,to relax,chill and enjoy the mild weather. The couple during our time there welcomed everyone who came to the site,nothing was too much trouble for them .The facilities were very good and well maintained. People who came to the site were very friendly and helpful. We would like to thank the couple for their kindness and wish temperature all the best for the future Mr and Mrs leach
