Do your getaway priorities skew more towards keeping fit than lounging at the beach... or might you fancy both? Have them at the family-friendly site of Pola Giverola Camp, five kilometres from the town of Tossa de Mar on Catalonia's Costa Brava.
Watersports are a cinch to sort from here via the wakeboarding, waterskiing, kayaking and diving centre next to the site, and a path leads from the grounds to the spectacular sandy cove of Cala Pola for swimming, beach volleyball and those days of beach lounging. The Pola Giverola Camp pool has aqua aerobics if you're feeling active and plenty of room for gentle dips if not…
The site's facilities include a pool with sun loungers and parasols, two facilities blocks with clean toilets and showers, a laundry, a small shop with baked goods and artisan ice creams as well as two restaurants and bars.

Yet more activity awaits within easy reach of the site: you could, for example, hire a banana boat, take a pedalo ride, or – much recommended – make for the diving and watersports centre next to the site in Giverola cove.
And then? Well, you could follow the stunning waymarked coastal route along this wild and hilly coastline from the site to the medieval hilltop town of Tossa de Mar, to explore its Old Town, clamber around the ruins of the Castillo, and browse the galleries and shops for souvenirs and local crafts; there are of course beaches here too... Then there's Lloret de Mar (25 minutes' drive), for wanders around the Jardines de Santa Clotilde and the Iberian Settlement of Puig Castellet, or taking things most easy indeed at one of the town spas.
Seeking city sightseeing instead? The theatres, restaurants, museums, galleries and bars of Girona are about an hour’s drive from Camping Pola and Barcelona is about an hour and 40 minutes.
