Taking the adrenaline down a notch, town and city days are in the region too, such as at the city of Antequera 30 kilometres away to see its historical sites including Roman baths, a Moorish castle, Gothic churches and Renaissance fountains. Malaga and its 15 beaches are 65 kilometres away, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Cordoba and its Mezquita or Great Mosque is within 90 kilometres. Closer to home, the town of Rute 15 kilometres away is stuffed with food-based attractions, including its Sugar Museum, Ham House-Museum and the Galleros Artesanos with its models made of chocolate. Nearby natural highlights include the Laguna de Herrera and Laguna Amarga natural reserves (15 kilometres), and the mountains of the Sierra de Castillo (20 kilometres) and Sierra del Pedroso (30 kilometres).
