If you're anywhere in northern Slovenia – or indeed, anywhere in Slovenia – this place is a bit of a must. Šenkova Domačija Tourist Farm near Zgornje Jezersko is among the valleys and mountains of the Kamnik–Savinja Alps, close to the border with Austria, and in stunning surrounds with mountain backdrops and open space aplenty: this is where you pause for a minute to gape at the site pics... This lush place is in a remote and rural spot, typical of Slovenian mountain settlements where folk have farmed for centuries. Central to the site are the eight homestead buildings, the main one of which dates back to 1517 and is now a protected national heritage building. As the name might hint, this is a tourist farm settlement too: cows, sheep, chickens, ducks, a dog and the site cats all wander around here; guests can also saddle up on the resident horses for guided hacks around the farm or longer treks into the mountains. The campsite part of the farm is on a meadow under old ash trees, with spectacular views of the mountains. Facilities include toilets and hot showers, a springwater basin, a communal kitchen with tables, seating and a fridge, and a farm restaurant serving homemade breakfasts and dinners. There's also a communal campfire area: this is one place where one must certainly sit outside and see the stars... And finally? You can even get married at Šenkova Domačija – and what a pretty place it is to get hitched too.

喜欢 Wunderschöner Campingplatz inmitten atemberaubender Bergkulisse und Natur pur! Traumhafte Wander- und MTB-Routen direkt ab Platz. Besonders empfehlenswert: das Frühstück mit hausgemachten Spezialitäten – super lecker! Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

不喜欢 Einziger Minuspunkt: leider etwas zu wenige Duschen und Toiletten. Trotzdem kommen wir sehr gerne wieder!

喜欢 Loved our stay. Such a hardworking, welcoming family, who put so much effort into making their visitors’ stay the best it can be. Decent size pitch and nice facilities. We loved the outdoor deck and had a delicious meal there one night, made with farm produce. A stunningly beautiful setting with the mountains in the background, and lots of beautiful walks nearby (highly recommend the easy loop along the road direct from the campsite)

不喜欢 Could do with more toilets and showers, but we never had to wait more than a few minutes and the facilities are of a high standard

喜欢 Cadre magnifique, vaut le coup de s'y rendre, de passer la nuit et de dîner sur place, la vue est magnifique.
L'accueil est très chaleureux, l'ambiance a la ferme est là, les enfants étaient ravis (9,5 et 3 ans).
Sanitaires propres et suffisants pour le nombre de voyageurs.

喜欢 Très agréable camping au pied des montagnes, emplacement délimité pour la tente, proposant un bon restaurant. Un lieu paisible et propice aux jeunes enfants. On a tous adorés passer ces quelques jours auprès des animaux. On recommande fortement.

The helpful team can sort you out with info and routes around the surrounding mountains, ski areas and hiking paths for guided or self guided tours. Venture out into the mountains for as long or short a hike as you want; plenty of trails are nearby for all abilities and lengths of walk. A recommended and fairly easy route is to the Češka koča mountain hut, one of the most popular hiking destinations in Jezersko for over a century. You could also tackle the peaks of the Karavanke range, opposite the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, which are reachable all year round via routes to Goli vrh, Pristovški storžič, Virnikov Grintovec and Stegovnik. Around 15 kilometres of cross country skiing trails are nearby in the Ravenska Kočna valley: hire ski kit at the farm if you'd like to partake.
