添加您的业务详细信息If you’re poking around for a peaceful getaway close to car-free Giethoorn, a village often likened to ‘the Venice of the Netherlands’, it’s time to take a look at Camping De Leemvijver, a small and very peaceful site only 15 minutes’ drive away from the village’s thatched roofs and winding waterways.
At this dog-friendly site, there’s a small pond set to the side of the grassy pitches, where curious koi carp will come up to the surface to bid you good morning. Your morning cup of coffee is easily sourced on site too, as there is a bar serving coffee and snacks.
Surrounded by greenery, this is a place where you may well feel inspired to pull on your hiking boots or put your bicycle into action. The small site is on several bike, equestrian and hiking trails, and a number of national parks and nature reserves are a short drive away.
The well-maintained site has spacious pitches, paved roads and gorgeous views. Facilities-wise, there’s a luxury toilet block with a launderette. Barbecues are also allowed.
Tracking down shops for food supplies is easy, if you haven't already taken the chance to eat at one of the many waterfront restaurants or cafés in Giethoorn after a boat tour or a visit to the open-air farming village museum of Museum Giethoorn 't Olde Maat Uus (20 minutes’ drive). There’s a supermarket in Steenwijk, 15 minutes’ drive away from the site.

Set on hiking and biking through gorgeous Friesland? Good news – there are trails all over the place… The trails at Drents-Friese Wold National Park (25 minutes’ drive) weave through forest and drift sands, as well as visiting the Netherlands’ first butterfly reserve too. As Europe’s largest wet moorland, Dwingelderveld National Park (35 minutes) has a different sort of landscape. Fens, marsh flats and yet more drift sands have attracted wildlife like grass snakes, deer, falcons and woodpeckers.
Searching for somewhere closer by? One of the closest walks to the site is Estate "De Eese" Natuurschoonwet B.V. (35 minutes’ walk), a short but sweet walk around a country estate with old buildings.
De Weerribben-Wieden National Park (25 minutes’ drive) brings yet more variety. This time, you might want to board a boat to get around the lakes, ponds and canals, as it’s the largest fen in northwest Europe.
