This is a truly spectacular location for a Veneto getaway – Baia Holiday Gasparina is right on the shores of Lake Garda (the largest of Italy’s lakes, no less), in an enviably scenic spot about 10 minutes' drive from both Peschiera del Garda and Castelnuovo del Garda.
Being right on the water’s edge, you can even take a dip in those crystal-clear waters from the free beach area on site. Most guests, however, choose to swim in the semi-Olympic-sized outdoor pool, surrounded by a large sun terrace with lots of loungers and parasols and flanked by a kids’ pool and a whirlpool.
Away from the pool, there’s an arcade and a play area for the kids, along with a programme of activities for ages 4 to 10 in the summer holidays. Grownups needn’t go without social activities either, with access to things like aqua gym classes and guided hikes in high season. And of course, there’s always the option of a long leisurely meal at the restaurant/pizzeria – or perhaps a drink or two at the bar.
A well-stocked mini market is on site for those who need supplies to cook their own meals; it’s also got various handy extras including camping kit, swimming costumes and the like. Other facilities on site include a chemical disposal point and well-kept bathroom blocks.
The cherry on top of all this? The many attractions of Gardaland are less than a kilometre away, and there are lots more outings nearby, from family attractions to wineries to days exploring Verona.

当地景点
For family holidays, first port of call has to be Gardaland (two minutes' drive) – as well as a good collection of thrill rides it’s also got a water park and a Sea Life aquarium to check out. Only a little further away are places like Movieland Studios (five minutes), Caneva Aquapark (10 minutes) and Parco Natura Viva (15 minutes) – and to keep life nice and easy, you can usually pick up advance tickets at the holiday park.
Along the lake shore, Sirmione (20 minutes) is a must-visit, with a medieval castle on a long spit in the lake. Lazise (15 minutes), Desenzano (25 minutes) and Malcesine (an hour) are some of the other lakeside villages that might be on your radar, and it’s worth heading to Bardolino (20 minutes) to try a glass of the wine named after the village.
Away from the lake, you may like to take a day in Verona (half an hour) to see things like the arena and Juliet’s balcony (from Romeo and Juliet), or spend some time in either Brescia (40 minutes) or Mantua (45 minutes).
