If your hindquarters demand a day away from horsey antics, it’ll take you half an hour or so to walk down to the Dreetzer See for strolls and swimming; cycling and canoeing are other options here if you’re happy to do a bit more sitting. Should you require a little more soothing, there’s a splendid thermal spa over in Neuruppin, 40 minutes away by car. If you’ve got tiddlers to keep happy, there’s also a fab little zoo over here, where you can get up close to the animals and get involved with feeding some of them. Those of you with a penchant for a bit of a mystery may like to venture to the Ritter von Kalebuz museum, 10 minutes away by car, to see and learn more about the mummified Knight of Kalebuz. If that’s a little too much gore, how about a somewhat gentler steamboat outing from Wusterhausen, 20 minutes away?
