To the sea first? You’ll have several options for a beach day – the town’s main beach, Plage des Lecques, is about a 20-minute walk away and a good choice for a family day, with soft sand and various watersports to try. On the other side of town, Calanque de Port d’Alon (15 minutes' drive) is a natural cove for a quieter beach experience. Boat tours and scuba/snorkel outings are available from several local providers, and there’s Aqualand Saint-Cyr-Sur-Mer (five minutes) for a different watery day out.
Away from the coast, there are lots of fabulous walks to try in the Sainte-Baume Regional Natural Park, cute villages like Le Castellet and La Cadière d'Azur (both 15 minutes) and lots of wineries for tasting Provençal wines (including several within a few minutes’ drive/cycle).
For longer days out, you may like to visit one of the nearby cities – perhaps heading to Toulon (20 minutes) for the Musée National de la Marine, exploring the harbour and historic buildings in Marseille (half an hour) or strolling through the Old Town in Aix-en-Provence (40 minutes).
