About five minutes’ drive from Bussière-Galant and surrounded by the scenery of the Périgord-Limousin Natural Park, this site is part of a leisure park that’s packed with things to do: without leaving the area you can swim, fish or paddleboard on the lake, play mini golf, ride the miniature train or climb up into the treetops for a high ropes course and ziplines across the lake.
Back at ground level there’s also a football pitch and multisports court for a bit of competitive activity, plus a lake beach area for those who’d rather relax and read a book. Other facilities to make life nice and easy include a restaurant, shops and the food trucks that visit every evening in high season. Summer also sees the Festi'Hermeline event, which stages live music on site.
Heading out, there are plenty of great hiking trails nearby, along with the chance to cycle along mountain bike trails or an easygoing voie verte route. Châteaux and farm parks are also within easy reach, or you could spend some time wandering around the city of Limoges, checking out its medieval heritage and porcelain centres.
Accommodation here is in well-equipped caravans, all of which have a kitchen, bathroom and air conditioning as well as an outdoor deck with table, lounge chairs and barbecue for alfresco evenings.

With all those activities to try out, getting yourselves off site might be a bit of a task – but it’s well worth doing, as there are plenty of great places to visit nearby. For family outings, the place to start may well be with the cute animals at Ferme Animalière Parc de Puyraud or Ferme chêne de Greletti (both 20 minutes’ drive) – or perhaps the gold panning activities at Maison de l’Or en Limousin (15 minutes), which is also home to some wonderfully glittering displays.
There are more fabulous displays – and some very grand architecture too – at the area’s châteaux. Château de Châlus-Chabrol (10 minutes) is the closest, but you may also like to add to your list places like Château Fort de Montbrun (15 minutes), Château De Brie (20 minutes) and Château de Jumilhac (25 minutes).
And how about admiring some porcelain displays too? Limoges (40 minutes) is surely the world’s main hub of porcelain production, and you can see some gorgeous examples in places like the Adrien Dubouché National Museum and the Four à porcelaine des Casseaux.
