Oak Farm

Being in any of France’s natural parks brings lots of options for scenic walks – and the Normandy-Maine Regional Natural Park is no exception. A couple of lovely local options are the spectacular waterfall La Grande Cascade (10 minutes’ drive) and gentle strolls through the Tourbière de la Lande Mouton nature reserve (15 minutes). You might also like to wander through the orchards at Musée du Poiré (10 minutes) while learning about perry production and sampling a few local products. For faster-paced ways to spend some time outdoors, there’s a go-karting track (15 minutes) and a bike park at Stade VTT de Brouains (20 minutes). Something more leisurely? Climb Belvédère de Chaulieu (20 minutes) for lovely views across the landscapes, or enjoy a touch of magic at The Enchanted Village (15 minutes). Looking further afield, there are cobbled lanes, gardens and a museum to visit in pretty Avranches (40 minutes) and you can see one of France’s most-visited sites at Mont Saint-Michel (55 minutes), a holy island with a stunning medieval abbey.
