Campsite Le Pressoir is 15 minutes from the town of Saint-Émilion, near the Dordogne and 35 minutes' drive from the edge of Bordeaux... and did you know that the Romans were cleverly planting vineyards in this area in the second century? Oui, this is wine region: very much so, as the site is set on a former wine-growing farm. Le Pressoir is a quiet and relaxing site, set on said farm and under the shade of long-established oak and pine trees. It has a pool and a sauna (yes, this is a relaxing site), and a traditional restaurant and bar, Brasserie le Pressoir, which serves up local specialties on its varied menu along with tapas and wine specials and takeaway in summer. Aqua gym, sports tournaments, nightly entertainment and a kids' club are organised in high season.

喜欢 I'm sure it would be a nice site in the height of summer. When cleaners were working etc!

不喜欢 I appreciate it was the end of the season, but if a site is open then surely things ought to continue regardless.
Showers were cold, generally scruffy. Toilet's were smelly and not pleasant.

不喜欢 Toilets not clean. No toilet paper provided.
Lots of immagrant workers (working in the fields) making lots of noise. Arguments into the night. Reception not open on the times stated.

喜欢 Loved the area was nice. Staff were really helpful and went out of their way to help us out.was good that it had a launderette there.

不喜欢 Little noisy at times, but wasn't a problem. Was some of tree pines in pool, maybe time of the year? A few problems with electric going off when it rained or got too damp.

喜欢 Noah the young guy that was working there

不喜欢 Pretty much everything else the place was full of Romanians they were getting evicted in front of my eyes the place was essentially dirty and if you rent a mobile home you have to pay a €340 euro deposit with no warning on the website some people don’t have that kind of money my partner and I were shocked some families only have €500 to spend imagine being left with €160 euros im not saying I was but I’m sure some people have been left in stick situations over this. This is not a 4 star camping resort it’s 2 star at best

Der uns zugewiesene Platz war sehr uneben - vermutlich zuvor als Dauerstellplatz oder mit Holzbungalow genutzter Platz......

Golfers rejoice: a 10-minute drive from Camping Le Pressoir is a top-notch golf course designed by Tom Doak, named as one of the top courses in France. Fishing, cycling and canoeing are also available locally. Saint-Émilion is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and its history goes back to prehistoric times. It's one of the top areas for red wine areas in Bordeaux, as recognised by the toga types all those years ago: sample Merlot and Cabernet Franc here along with a bit of Cab Sav. A large chunk of Bordeaux is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, mainly because of its 18th-century heyday. Sights to see include its 362 monuments historiques (only Paris has more), the biggest square in Europe at the Esplanade des Quinconces, the 18th-century Grand Théâtre and Saint-André Cathedral and the many churches.
