Now here’s a rare chance to see Gwynedd’s Italianate folly of Portmeirion out of hours and without the crowds. At Portmeirion Motorhome Park, the pitch price includes entry into the village itself – and as an added bonus, you also get complimentary use of the heated outdoor swimming pool. For those who aren’t yet familiar with the pretty Portmeirion village, the buildings are Italianate in style, although the village is on the north coast of Wales and sits right on the edge of Eryri National Park (formerly Snowdonia). While you’re there, make the most of the village’s attractions: go shopping for patterned Portmeirion pottery, or choose between fine-dining restaurants and cafés selling regional produce to stave off any hunger pangs. If you’re in the mood for some R&R, your best bet is to book a rejuvenating treatment at the village’s luxury spa. But back to those touring pitches. The motorhome park is sheltered by trees and planted with colourful hydrangeas, so it's a peaceful and pretty place. The hardstanding pitches are all serviced with drinking water and an electric hook-up and can cater for all sizes of motorhomes and campervans. A clean shower block is also on hand and includes accessible amenities.

喜欢 Location couldn't be better right in the heart of the Portmeirion village. Good screening between pitches and spacious plots though not 100% level. Loved the birds all around. Staff really helpful.

不喜欢 Grey waste was a bit blocked and as our pitch was the lowest we did end up with a bit of a stream through our site after heavy rain. Wifi was intermittent and no phone signal.

喜欢 Excellent site showers toilet immaculate staff very friendly. Thought it was expensive even taking into consideration it includes entrance to village but overall 9 out 10

不喜欢 Price was expensive as we stayed 2 nights but you have to leave by 10.00 so don't get chance to use 2nd days entrance.

喜欢 Lovely site and the staff were very welcoming. Particularly loved a walk around the village in the evening with the lights on and quiet streets.

喜欢 Very impressed with the high standard of the motorhome park. Hedging was neat and tidy.....no litter anywhere.
The bathroom facilities were also up to a high standard too....keep it up!!!

喜欢 Ideal pitch with electrical hookup, but no sign to where the clean water tap was. An educational guess proved correct. A simple guide or sign would be usefull.

The grey water waste facility had been thought out well with the elsan close and a hose for washing the elsan was nearby.

The shower facilities and toilets were clean and fairly well situated for myself.

不喜欢 The shower facilities could have done with something as simple as a stool for a partially/elderly disabled user, or as somewhere to put shoes off the floor.

喜欢 Plenty of space to park, convenient and very clean services. Staff were lovely and professional, especially those on the reception desk. East access to the village by buggy if needed. May seem expensive but not when entry to the village is included.

If you’re keen for a game of golf while on holiday, you'll be pleased to hear that Portmeirion Motorhome Park is just 20 minutes’ drive away from a golf course overlooking the sea. Rather conveniently, the course is next to Harlech beach, a windswept bay with dunes and mountain views, as well as Harlech Castle, a grand building with turrets and a suspended wooden footbridge. This whole area is pretty well endowed with historic sites, from the ruined 13th-century Criccieth Castle (20 minutes' drive) above Tremadog Bay to the Ffestiniog Railway (25 minutes), which runs heritage train trips through Eryri to see the mountainscapes in old-fashioned style. Llechwedd Slate Mines and Zip World Llechwedd (25 minutes) are other fine spots to add to your plans – venture into the Victorian slate mines or brave the speedy Titan zipwire for a proper burst of adrenaline. For a more sedate outing, head to Bywyd Gwyllt Glaslyn Wildlife (15 minutes). It's open during high season only, but you’re in with the chance of spotting ospreys – for wildlife fans that's surely something to boast about.
