Stand by for action… Rhydywernen Farm Camping Site’s fab family farm location is in a most handy spot for getting out into the Brecon Beacons National Park for days of hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, canoeing, gorge walking and pretty much any other activity you’re up for in this part of Powys. And then, stand by for chilling out… for this is a most peaceful location, with spacious pitches backing onto woodland and a small river that’s prime territory for such classic country pursuits as skimming stones and poking about with little fishing nets in search of minnows. Away from the water's edge guests are encouraged to meet the site's miniature donkeys, helping to feed them and put them to bed in the evenings. Barbecues with a backdrop of the Brecon Beacons are of course a fine way to sort dinner on site (firepits are available to hire, with firewood to buy). If the weather’s not up to it (or you’re just in the mood to let someone else do all the work), there are plenty of pubs, cafés and restaurants up the road in Brecon. Work up an appetite for your eats with an hour-long stroll along quiet country paths, or get in the car for the easy 10-minute journey to town along the A470 (also a handy road for getting to other corners of the national park or heading across country to the north or south). Please note this is a family-friendly site: no open fires, no bad language and no loud music after 10.30pm please. Facilities on site include toilets, a washing-up area and hot showers (just take note that during popular times, the water pressure may be a little lower than usual).

喜欢 Me and my mother had a lovely few days away here just to rest and relax from work we walked down by the lovely little stream in which I got in with my dogs it was that fresh and clear stunning, also after that we feed the donkeys with there babies and that was amazing Thankyou for a lovely stay and will be back soon.

喜欢 Stayed here before.Its a lovely site with friendly owners.. nice new clean shower block. Can walk into Brecon in just over 30 minutes . Can use firepits here which u can hire and purchase logs or bring your own?

喜欢 Arrived with our tentbox. You could choose where in the field to pitch up. We were in the field with the shower and toilet block. Very clean and well maintained.
Kitchen area was great, washing up, microwave, fridge and freezer.
Bonus a baby donkey was born the morning we arrived. Cuteness over load.
You can go and say hi to the donkeys and goats they are so well cared for. Surrounded by lovely countryside. We will be back.

Lovely walk into brecon owners are friendly
We even seen the newborn donkey who had only been born that morning. We regularly stay here as its not too far to travel for us and always get some duck eggs before we leave.

喜欢 This is an excellent site in a really good position. The facilities are new and well kept

不喜欢 As the site became busy on Saturday it was evident that there are not quite enough toilets.

喜欢 The whole site is run very well.
I loved feeding carrots to the donkeys.(after asking itt was ok)
We liked the quietness, cleanliness and the facilities.

We usually only stay for one night on a site, but it was so lovely and close to Brecon , but still very rural, we stayed for 3 nights

We got a warm welcome on our arrival.

We were told there was a walk to a waterfall which i did with our dog.

不喜欢 The water in the showers ran away from the plughole making a bit of a flood at the door end. A squeegee was provided, so not a serious issue, just a shame in what is obviously a nice fairly new shower block.

So much activity awaits in the Brecon Beacons National Park: pick a gentle hike around woods and waterfalls if you want, or get stuck in to scaling Pen y Fan (25 minutes’ drive away and southern Britain’s highest mountain). Horse riders can saddle up at the stables 10 minutes away, while those who like to zoom around on mountain bikes can get some speed up at BikePark Wales (25 minutes). The outdoorsy antics don’t end there – Brecon’s something of a hub for such things, and activity centres around the town can sort you with rafting, canoeing, high ropes courses and gorge scrambling. All sound a bit too exhausting? Take a more leisurely ride on the Brecon Mountain Railway (25 minutes) before heading home via the Penderyn whisky distillery (20 minutes). Break out of the Beacons for trips to some of the area’s other attractions: Llandovery Castle is half an hour away, as is the book-loving town of Hay-on-Wye. A little further north but worth a trip are the lakes of the Elan valley and the red kite feeding station in Rhayader; both are around an hour’s drive away.
