Right in the centre of the North Wessex Downs National Landscape and hugging the banks of the River Avon, the family-friendly site at Wiltshire’s Woodbridge Inn offers up three acres of leafy grounds to spread out and relax in. Surrounded by sleepy rural hamlets with old-world names like Manningford Bruce and Honey Street, the site has a handy location five minutes’ drive from the pretty town of Pewsey, its shops and restaurants. And even handier, it comes with a pub attached to it. The Woodbridge is an 18th-century coaching inn well-known for its traditional Sunday roasts; the pub serves local beers brewed in Devizes and has a riverside beer garden with a play area for younger guests. You can also order picnic meals for your jaunts around the North Wessex Downs to mysterious Stonehenge and ethereal Avebury (both 20 minutes’ drive). Back on site, simple facilities include an up-cycled amenities hut with showers. You can go paddleboarding and fishing on the Avon, and there are plenty of riverside walks so you can exercise any canine chums who are along for the ride.

喜欢 Beautiful spot down by the river, great walks along the Pewsey and Avon trails with pubs at the end, and on the bus route.
No noticeable traffic noise

Great pub, friendly hosts, good food.
Ideal for short stop-over

不喜欢 Appears untidy and uncared for.
Toilets/showers/wash up area just knocking down and replacing.

Toilets and showers need attention
Pitches were small and scruffy need new gravel and grass cutting .
Washing up area was poor I think you had to boil a kettLe for hot water.
Didn’t know pub was going to be closed was expecting to get some food (Tuesday)no one answered phone number on gate !
Food on Wednesday was ok but only burgers on offer.
We couldn’t stay at the pub for long as a pack of 3 dogs were running loose .
The pub was very nice, I don’t think the owner was very welcoming

喜欢 Pub does great food and what a lovely little campsite! Hard standing and EHU available or just your standard grass pitch. Facilities look a little tired, but were clean and do the job. The Owners are friendly and have only been here a few months and it has lots of potential, look forward to see what happens. Definitely coming back!

喜欢 Great location, lovely views, friendly and welcoming staff, local beer in the pub 2 minute walk. Lovely walk to Pewsley town, had a lovely peaceful weekend away, unfortunately had to leave due to work

喜欢 The area is very rural and the pub food was great . We had late sunday lunch .
It was a nice site near the trout stream & was mostly peaceful . Local bus into Marlborough was useful too.

不喜欢 I did feel for the price that the site was shabby . One toilet with a broken seat . 2 showers but the shower was good and hot . It all needed updating . The washing up area had no light switch and was a bit rough and ready . I hope as the owners are fairly new that they will update everything. as the area is nice

If you’re keen to see some of the mysterious prehistoric relics littered about Wiltshire, head north to the vast stone circles at Avebury, or stop by conical Silbury Hill (both 20 minutes’ drive). Turn south from the site and you can be at Stonehenge, with its all-singing, all-dancing visitor centre, in 20 minutes too. Carry on to the ancient city of Salisbury (35 minutes) to visit the spiky-spired cathedral and Old Sarum Castle (half an hour). Devizes (20 minutes) has a famed brewery to tour, and there are spectacular downs views from the Caen Hill lock flight on the Kennet and Avon Canal just outside town. Another pretty canal-side walk takes in Pewsey Wharf (10 minutes), where scores of brightly coloured barges line the banks. When you want to stay closer to base camp and just potter about, there’s a trout fishery five minutes’ stroll down the road, or you can play a round or two of golf (five minutes’ drive). Take scenic walks along the River Avon from the site, or embark on longer hikes through the undulating North Wessex Downs countryside.
