喜欢 Fishing lakes
The fact that it really is hidden away in beautiful countryside.
Showers, toilets and washing up areas very clean.

不喜欢 Distance of toilet bock to campsite. They need an additional toilet block in the tent pitching area. Could be compostable loos if it’s tricky to get plumbing to that area.
The games room did not have any light switch, so unable to play the games once it gets dark.
Would be great if there was a little shop selling essentials.

With it being between a 30-90 second walk depending on where you're pitched to the toilets, being a small family-run site, adding another shower block is not feasible, on top of the two we already have. We pride ourselves on having modern and clean shower blocks and would not wish to add a compost loo block.

Regarding the games barn, we have plenty of lights in there that you can clearly see displayed hanging from the roof. In the summer months, when the nights are long, we do not switch them on, as it often gives kids a reason to stay out later, making noise to disturb other guests staying near this area. As the nights get shorter, we turn them on.

不喜欢 I think a little more children's area/activity would be nice, playground, etc.

Many thanks for your honest review. We agree, we used to have more games for the children, but the more stuff we provided, the more it seemed either to disappear or get damaged. Regarding the two shower blocks, we have between 8-9 toilets/showers per sex and have never had an issue with queues.

喜欢 Flat patches, big space for the kids to play, clean facilities and beautiful surroundings. Top tip - if you have no signal to call for attention to access the site, park up and head in on foot via the side gate to the left to hunt down a member of the team.

不喜欢 Bring some earplugs for the sheep!

喜欢 Really enjoyed our stay here. The site is so peaceful and everyone was friendly. The warden was really helpful. Everything was clean and well taken care of. Clean loos and showers, nice washing up area. Our dog loved the dog field. Will definitely be back at some point!

不喜欢 Personally I found the drive to the site a bit stressful as was through some pretty rural roads and villages. And it was a fair drive to get to town/shops...but that's literally what makes it such a lovely 'hideaway'.

喜欢 Well equipped and designed site. They have everything you would expect or need from a campsite. They even have a local butcher show up every day before dinner time to provide you with tremendous quality meats for the BBQ.

不喜欢 I didn't personally mind much at all, but I feel that it's only fair to state this in case other potential travellers would dislike it..

The neighbouring fields are full of lovely sheep. Anyone who has spent time around sheep mums and calfs, or flocks in general, know that when they're out at night in the darkness they don't stay quiet! Expect a notable "baaaa" all night, particularly if you're tent camping. I found the noise quite cathartic if I'm honest!

Many thanks for your review. We appreciate your kind words. We would agree the neighbouring sheep are either love or hate lol! One thing I would mention as I wouldn't want other campers to expect something that isn't there. Our local butcher turns up every week on Saturday, not every day.
