Bolbec Manor Campsite

喜欢 This site is well set out with plenty space for each tent. We had a 4m bell tent. Lovely view from the spot we chose. Pleasant owners and reasonably priced. Great facilities and kept clean and supplied with soap etc. great wee kitchen area with plenty hot water. Showers too are clean, but that constant pushing for the water isn’t good for people with mobility issues. Also beside the site is an amazing place called the Manor House inn. The staff are so lovely and friendly. We went in for a quick drink to have a look and we ended up staying for their Sunday roast. What an amazing meal (I’m a chef and that was the best roast I’ve ever had served to me) kept busy. And it was constant smiles all round and checking all was good. Felt welcome from the minute we walked in the door. I’d drive there just for that Sunday roast. Booking is highly recommended.

不喜欢 Not really dislike as such. But maybe noted for visitors. We weren’t told where we could place our rubbish. We looked all over the site. Asked a couple of other campers and they said they too were looking but couldn’t find anywhere. Until we had to open the gate ourselves to get back into the site. And I saw a small metal bin with a tiny sign saying, bbq coals. Oh and a bin for bottles I think it was. But these were right by the entrance gate where the big house is being built. It wasn’t until our last night that we decided to just empty the fire pit and do without the fire, as we had to be off the site by 10am. That we noticed behind a fence a great big bin!!! No sign, no telling visitors where it was! So after carrying rubbish about in my car all day until we found a suitable bin, wasn’t great.

Showers are amazing clean and well looked after and brill for sky watchers as dark sky's
Pub next door has good food and nice people that run it 😋

喜欢 Such a lovely welcome from the owners, making sure we new where all the facilities were. We liked the individual hard standing pitch (no.2) which included a water point and grey water disposal. It's very handy for the pub next door for meals and drinks

喜欢 Views are incredible, spacious pitches, well divided, natural look. Good value for a non electric hard standing pitch. Good hot showers (maybe a bit too hot!) although the utility block looks a little unfinished and the showers need a bit more ventilation to keep it comfortable. Although we didn't use it, having a pub next door could be a real bonus. Lovely walk down to the reservoir, (hard working coming back up via the road if you choose to make it a circular walk!).

不喜欢 Slightly scruffy first impression when entering the site (owners appear to be renovating their house maybe?).

喜欢 Good hot shower.

不喜欢 Very basic unkept facilities. Cob webs everywhere in the facilities block. No lock on male toilet door. No paper towels or hand dryers. Large unkept pitches. No contact whatsoever with the owners to enquire if we had settled in well or had any concerns. Passed by our Moho on several occasions and never acknowledged our presence. No Bins for rubbish. Falsely represented on web site. Regrettably would never return and certainly would not recommend to anyone. Worst site we have used in 14 years of travelling on our motor homes

喜欢 Very friendly welcome by owner and loved being able to choose our own pitch. Site was nicely laid out with privacy hedges between pitches and were nice and spacious with EHU and grey waste on pitch. Water points easily located around the site. Whilst a few reviews criticise the toilet/shower facilities for not being finished off, personally I felt they were absolutely fine - dry, clean and with plenty of hot water which is all I tend to look for on a site. Washing up area had liquid and bowl provided if needed and was under cover. Easily walkable to the Derwent Reservoir but plenty of cheap car parks if you choose to drive there (about 5 mins away). Especially loved the fluffy chickens who lived next to pitch 4 - so cute!

不喜欢 Not a dislike but it was a little confusing to locate the entrance as we didn't realise you had to drive into the pub car park to access the site.

喜欢 Very friendly and helpful owners, helped us when a tent pole broke and were very kind! Views were gorgeous, location was great, and facilities were clean :)
