As a smaller, adults-only site in the Yorkshire Dales National Park that welcomes couples and solo travellers but not groups, Wharfe Camp encourages a peaceful, quiet atmosphere where you'll be surrounded by the sounds of the countryside. As well as only accepting a small number of people, it has views of the green north Yorkshire countryside and is a five-minute walk from Kettlewell with its three pubs, bistro, garage, launderette and well-stocked village shop. The rural settlement (known for its annual Scarecrow Festival) is on the Dales Way, so there are lots of scenic walks in the local area. The River Wharfe is also metres from the site for kayakers, and Kilnsey Crag is less than 10 minutes’ drive away for the climbers. Cavers are also sorted as the subterranean systems in Wharfedale are about the same distance from the site. If you are sticking to strolls, the circular route around the glacial lake at Malham Tarn starts from 45 minutes away or you can wander up to the waterfalls at Gordale Scar to gaze up at the overhanging limestone cliffs, stopping by Malham Cove to take snaps of the odd rock formations (35 minutes from the site) along the way. On site, the back of the family barn has been extended to include new toilets, a hot shower in a wetroom and washing-up facilities. Recycling’s also encouraged. Please note this is a place that's all about the peace and quiet, so no radios, televisions, musical instruments or musical kits are permitted. Guests are asked to close the car door and boots gently. Group bookings aren't permitted either (this includes groups making individual bookings and meeting up on site).

喜欢 On arrival greeted by lovely owner Sean. Really friendly, sociable and helpful the type of people you want running a camp site. Location absolutely stunning with the village of Kettlewell a five minute walk away. Nice couple of pubs serving excellent food. Facilities on site were immaculate. Site peaceful and quiet just wish we’d stayed longer. Recommend 100%.

喜欢 Very quiet, good facilities, very close to village with excellent pubs. Superb walking and gorgeous scenery.
Also we made a mistake as our campervan is 6.5m and we missed the messages from the campsite that clearly states max 5.0m.....but Sean allowed us to stay.Very generous of him

不喜欢 Small issue is that there is only one shower. Caused no problems for us but could imagine it might be an issue when fully booked

喜欢 Great layout of site with large pitches separated by hedging keeping each pitch relatively private whilst maintaining stunning views. Easy stroll into village. Very peaceful. Very clean and well maintained facilities.

喜欢 Quiet, lovely location allowing you to make the best of the Dales, plenty of walks on hand and with Kettlewell just a 5 mins walk along the road for pubs, cafe and a local shop and the Dales bus if you want to travel further afield and not use your car. Sean the owner was great, gave us all we needed to know by emailing beforehand and on arrival and was near to hand if you needed help with anything. The site has just 5 tent pitches with plenty of space for each pitch. The facilities are clean and fine with an expectation that everyone using them looks after them i.e. leaving them tidy for the next user, which is as it should be. We thought that ethos was spot on, respect the site and other users, Sean obviously works hard to make it a welcoming place to stay and everyone staying there should think the same. We will definitely go back!

Kilnsey Crag is less than 10 minutes’ drive from the site if you are here to scale some walls, and the underground systems in Wharfedale are about the same distance away for subterranean capers… And, try out fly fishing at Kilnsey Park (10 minutes) too. If you are sticking to strolls, the circular route around the glacial lake at Malham Tarn starts about 45 minutes’ drive away, and a wander up to the waterfalls at Gordale Scar to gaze up at overhanging limestone cliffs, stopping by Malham Cove to take snaps of the odd rock formations, is possible about 35 minutes from the site. For more forays into the countryside, Great Whernside and its fell walks take 10 minutes to reach. Along with the hills, the market towns are also worth visiting in North Yorkshire, like pretty Grassington (15 minutes' drive), where the new All Creatures Great and Small is being filmed, and Skipton, for its castle (25 minutes). Another ancient building to swing by is the 12th-century Augustinian monastery Bolton Priory 40 minutes’ drive away.
