Motorcycle racing and sandy beaches might sound like a fairly unusual combo, but you do get prime access to both at Oliver’s Mount. First of all, for the sporting enthusiasts among you: this green pop-up site is part of the road-racing circuit of the same name, a historic track that sees roaring action six weekends a year. It’s a top spot to catch some motorcycle races and car rallies. Having said that, away from those motorbike-focused weekends, the site is remarkably peaceful, and an excellent base from where to explore Scarborough and its seaside attractions (10 minutes’ drive) and the coast of North Yorkshire. On site are level grassy fields for your tent or motorhome, with heaps of space for children to run around and play, plus woodland walks that ought to make your dog’s tail wag with delight. Not forgetting the pretty epic views of the coastline from this elevated plateau… From a practical point of view, there are two toilet blocks, showers and a washing-up area. Water is available too, as are chemical disposal facilities. Barbecues are allowed, and the nearest shop is a five-minute drive away. But why cook when you can be cooked for? There’s a café/restaurant within walking distance (about 10 minutes), and you get spectacular views over Scarborough South Bay with your breakfasts, burgers or locally sourced fish.

喜欢 There was plenty of space, it was quiet, shower was hot immediately and there was shelter from the winds.

不喜欢 Only 1 shower operational (though they have backup) and that was somewhat dated.

来自经理: We have a male and female shower in use at all times, and at busier times, we open up the additional 5-shower trailer, but it's not needed at quiet times.
The showers are approx 2-3 years old.

喜欢 Revisited as we enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, great views and good dog walks either into Scarborough itself or just around the race circuit. Thoroughly enjoy the ‘Yorkshire TT’ meetings which are a different atmosphere altogether. Plenty of room to pitch up with clean toilets and showers.

喜欢 Nice views from the right as you drive in

不喜欢 The site is just a field at the top of the hill, the ground to the left is poor but to the right is better. There were kids on scrambler bikes screaming and revving engines (nothing to do with the track) in the next field for hours.
The showers were locked and no one around to even ask about the keys. Huge yellow bins along the middle of the camp were full and flies everywhere. Camping and caravan club have the next field for £13 a night. This was definitely not worth £25 a night in fact I would suggest £15 would be overpriced given the fact that it advertised showers but all locked and bins full.

来自经理: Sorry you didn't manage to find the showers Nicola. We have 2 shower blocks. There are showers in the toilet / shower block that are open every day the campsite is open, 24 hours a day, and we have just bought an additional 5-shower trailer unit for times when we are busy, so we now have a total of 7 showers and 16 toilets on site. You must not have tried the permanent toilet/shower building, but a quick call to our office in case of any issues as advised in your booking email would have quickly sorted this issue for you.
Sorry if there were people nearby riding motorbikes. That's nothing to do with our site, but again, a quick call to let us know you were having an issue and we would have done our best to resolve it.
We feel £25 a night for site with toilets, showers, drinking water, wash station and an elsan point and within walking distance to Scarborough town centre and beaches in August school holidays is very good value, as do most of our much happier guests.

Scarborough’s two sandy beaches (South Bay and North Bay) are separated by a headland topped by the ruins of a medieval castle. At the back of North Bay, the Scarborough Open Air Theatre puts on live music by big international names, and there are more events at the elegant Scarborough Spa, built in the late 19th century. Residents at Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park (10 minutes’ drive) include meerkats, lemurs and alpacas, plus friendly farmyard animals that enjoy being fed (please only use the site-approved feed bags, though). From there, drive a further five minutes to Filey Brigg Cliffs, where you might spot puffins flying overhead. Keen to have a go at paddleboarding or kayaking, but nervous to do it in open water? Head to North Yorkshire Water Park (25 minutes), where you can try these (and other) watersports, or just bounce, slide and splash around the inflatable adventure course.
