Wassell Grove Camping and Caravanning

喜欢 This is the highlight of our summer calendar with the family (9, 14, 17, 18 and four adults) and we had another wonderful visit. The site has a true family feel and the owners make everyone feel extremely welcome, other campers always friendly and happy to say hello, too. Clean facilities, lots to do either on site or nearby in terms of scenic walks, exploring etc. Brilliant location for switching off and having some family time x

Clean toilets
Lovely cafe
Great views from tent, great location with lots to do nearby and supermarkets nearby
Alpacas and lovely walks around the site
Perfect for fishing

After reading several other reviews about the toilets I was prepared to walk down the hill and up again. It is a steep hill and bumpy in the car but not much can be done about it. My only suggestion is that campers should bring their own toilet or bucket for the tent during the night, which is what I did

不喜欢 Not a dislike but I would’ve liked to try the sauna and you’ve got to book slots in advance so next time I’ll book the camp site along with the sauna so I can enjoy both. I was thinking it was open all the time

喜欢 It was a clean site the lakes were beautiful we had a lovely walk round them. Views were nice from the campsite.

不喜欢 Was fully booked and it’s not pitches so we were literally parked on top of one another.
Unfortunately we had a tent of 6 teenagers behind us with no parent, I’m all for them having fun however being woken up throughout the night is not on. I tried to contact the staff on the number but no response. We asked them to be quiet at 2 and again at 3 am it spoilt our stay really. A member of staff did respond in the morning to say they didn’t see the message and they were not happy with the situation, which I appreciate however when u have poor health and are travelling round you do need some sleep. I have slept better at festivals.
If you have health issues the toilets and showers are a walk from the campsite and it’s a hill to walk back up.

不喜欢 Not a lot of options left where to pitch. Some people parked cars on grass and left drives free.

喜欢 Stayed in the little blue cabin. It was spacious (3 of us!) and private. We were able to use the firepit & stove for cooking. Chairs & loungers were provided. The facilities (toilet/showers/cafe) were a 1 min walk from the cabins which was very convenient. They actually provided a few tea, hot chocs, marshmallows&coffees to use, some BBQ utensils and cups & torches/lights. Was above my expectations by far! Feeding the alpacas was adorable, you can get alpaca food in the cafe. The cafe food was delicious, staff were helpful and friendly. The scenery was so nice for walks. Would defo come back!

喜欢 I liked how friendly the staff was and how its a secure campsite, i loved rhe walk around. I felt very safe had on a incident and spoke to the people who was very understanding and axted very well on it. I defienelty be coming again perhaps not on school holidays

不喜欢 I disliked the fact that i found it pretty hard to find an area where i could put my tent due to the size and when i found the spot there was alot of rubble so it was just bending my pegs even bent my hard ground stakes.
