You don’t have to be miles away from everything to sample a little slice of rural splendour. Godwin’s Caravan and Camping has level grass pitches, far-reaching country views, and resident cattle, sheep and horses (if you’re lucky, you might also catch a glimpse of the hedgehogs that scuttle about the place). What’s more, it is dead easy to access via the M40 and the A34 – it sits on the outskirts of Weston-on-the-Green (a 10-minute walk), not-quite-halfway between Bicester (10 minutes’ drive) and Oxford (25 minutes). Let the kids have a bit of a runaround on the field while you locate the toilet/shower block (with facilities for disabled guests, too) and the café, which serves hot food (including all-day breakfasts), cakes and coffees, plus home-made ice cream in a wide range of flavours. Then it’s off to explore the local area – perhaps via the village pub, which is a five-minute walk away down the B430. If you have your four-legged companion with you, head to Kirtlington Quarry (10 minutes), with woodland and waterside walks; to Merton Woodlands (15 minutes) or to the dog park in Lower Arncott (15 minutes), where it can run off the lead. Birdwatchers, meanwhile, make a beeline for RSPB Otmoor (20 minutes), an area of wetlands that is home to marsh harriers and lapwings, as well as hares and lizards. Come dinner time, the pub might exert its lure again, or you might want to start a barbecue. Provisions can be sourced from the village shop or from a supermarket on the A34 (10 minutes).

喜欢 Such a convenient stopover. Good loos and showers. We have been to the cafe before and it's lovely...but didn't go on this trip as it's closed on Mondays.

喜欢 Lovely facilities - toilet block spotlessly clean. (In Ladies side - 2 showers plentiful hot water, 2 toilets).

Smaller green field site - not too crowded.

Great looking and popular cafe the Milk Shed on site if you wanted to use it for breakfast/brunch or coffee and cake.

10 mins walk to a nice pub - the Ben Johnson. Dog friendly pub in bar area.

喜欢 Very well thought out amenities. Great location and very peaceful. Easy access to very well spaced out pitches. The cafe was very nice also ( I recommend the scrambled eggs)

喜欢 The setting was nice , Village nearby with a lovely pub just a less than 10 minute walk.Situated at the Campsite was the Milk shed Cafe which was very nice no wonder they have won awards.It was lovely to see the horses on a few occasions. The facilities were clean and showers great

不喜欢 The only thing I would mention is no ledge/seat in which to sit on when trying to get dried and dressed but could be easily sorted BUT certainly wouldn't put us off coming again .
I saw quite a few comments on previous reviews on the road noise but it's fine didn't really notice so please don't be put off .
