Looking for a slice of rural Gloucestershire served up with the personal touch? Make a beeline for Ashley’s Meadow, five minutes’ drive from Drybrook in the Forest of Dean. This teeny-tiny site has just a few bell tents ready and waiting for youl, with easy access around the site for mobility-impaired guests.
Accommodation is in spacious bell tents with a comfy sofa, double and two single beds (linens provided, but you may want to bring your favourite pillow from home), sitting on concrete bases and carpeted inside for a cosy feel. Each tent has access to electricity and a cold-water tap, outdoor seating and picnic tables for summer-time suppers.
Shared on-site facilities include a firepit and covered eating area with a hot plate and barbecue for alfresco feasting. The brand-new in 2026) washroom has a wheelchair-accessible wetroom, separate loos and a washroom, and in the same block, you have use of the kitchenette with all the basics (fridge freezer, kettle and toaster) provided.
The energetic among you can have a bounce around on the sunken trampoline, and there are swings and slides for the youngest guests in an enclosed field providing a safe space. You also have access to 14 acres of private woodland – particular pretty when bluebells flower in spring. If the great British weather should disgrace itself, you can all retreat to the games room with darts and a pool table, or chill on the giant bean bags and play board games.
