At Hilly Springs, you’ll be planting down three miles from the edge of the Peak District National Park on a small, quiet site in Derbyshire. While things are nice and peaceful on the site, there’s a lot of activity to be had in the surrounding attractions, which include Alton Towers’s theme park rides 15 minutes’ drive away and Carsington Water’s watersports haven 20 minutes’ drive away. There’s water on the site too, this time in the form of a small lake. This is a dog-friendly, adults-only site, by the way, so there’s little disturbance and dogs are required to be kept on a lead. You’ll have access to a portable toilet and, aside from that, permission to start a barbecue. But where to source the burgers, drinks and buns, or whatever else you like on the grill? Well, there’s a farm shop five minutes’ drive away for that purpose or the town centre within walking distance of the site. Five minutes’ walk away, there’s also a pub for those of you who fancy the cooking done for you.

喜欢: Loved how relaxed the site was, it was great for people who want to camp but not wild camp completely. loved the location. Feels peaceful but still close to everything so there’s lots to do. The woman running the site was really friendly. The toilets were also really clean. It was awesome.

喜欢: Upon arrival, we were introduced to Dee, the lovely owner. It wasn’t busy and gave us a choice of where we wanted to pitch up, and information about nearby places to visit. Lovely flat field and was spoilt for choice.
Basic toilet kept clean. Fires were allowed and it was just basic camping. Very peaceful and beautiful scenery. Just perfect

喜欢: Amazing views from the top field we were in, but be aware it slopes as it’s on an hill, but worth it for the views. Unlimited pitch size. Very quiet and peaceful and totally dark which was great. Good base for walking and exploring. Good traditional basic camping in great surroundings for a good price.

不喜欢: Lack of signage/information on site. First field was full except from a space in the corner. Noticed that someone was walking up a hill and followed them to discover another field. The space where we were originally going to camp was actually the access to the fields up the hill.

喜欢: facilities were good, toilets were clean.

不喜欢: a few too many people in such a small site. states that there are 15 pitches but there was far more than that on the tiny feild. we was told later that you could use the feild next door, but this was on a hill and we'd already set up. we will stay again.. but in the other feild and when it is less busy.

喜欢: Idyllic little spot hidden away from the road beside a pond with ducks! Very basic facilities but clean and thoughtfully equiped. We stayed on a couple of windy days but the site was very sheltered with unrestricted sized pitches.

喜欢: Lovely little site off the main road, toilet and sink for washing up, lovely pond to overlook and really quiet which was nice. Near to everything needed but far enough away to not hear much noise.
