Plenty of space

Loved the peace and quiet and big space to ourselves around the stargazer tent. Facilities around the stargazer tent were fab: a fire pit and seating around it, kitchen area and little loo we could use in the night, and the double bed was super-comfy. The wagons were a life saver for getting our gear (and our little one) from the car to the tent! The owners were also really friendly answering my questions before arrival.

- A lot of space,
- Many small attractions for children - fairy houses, swings, stones, owls, ponds...
- Friendly staff
- Steam trains are seen from the site and there is a station nearby. And steam trains are way more fun to watch from a side than travel on it :) Also, they go only during the day, so you can sleep well.
- There was a fridge and kettle available. As well as a small library and a "club".

1. When we stayed on site, there was a music event nearby. It was really load till 10.50 pm. Around 1 am I woke up - and there was some music again - not that loud though, but still. On Sunday, every person I met on-site, asked "Have you heard the music?"
2. There is the old train line and river nearby. It is great, but there are two moments to know:
(a) you can not cross the train line to reach the river (unless you go to the train station or drive around).
(b) if you go by a trail to the nearest train station, you find yourself on the wrong side of the fence from the publicly accessible area. So you have to jump over a fence.
3. You see, the prices are x2 higher than at other sites.

The facilities are good. But they are located near the entrance and far from some of the pitches.

So owners try to make the place good. But we were unlucky to come at the wrong time. I would be less sceptical if owners suggested a discount for the music night, or make something to make our Sunday better, but it was not the case.
* If it is not a usual situation, you could buy a box of ice cream and suggest it to customers as an apology, right? Do something which would not break the bank, but make visitors happier :)

Really lovely, quiet campsite. Friendly staff and everything available for a 'back to nature' camping experience. Loved every minute, definitely going back

Absolutely beautiful setting with abundant wildlife. We loved the peace and tranquillity, the silence just broken by the sound of the occasional steam train chugging by. The host was friendly and welcoming and was happy to show us around when we arrived. We found some nice flat ground to pitch the tent, and it was fun dragging all our belongings down there using a cart they provided. Liked the fact that cars stay in the little car parking area at the entrance. The toilet/shower facilities are adequate and clean, and there's a lovely 'cabin' to hang out in if weather is challenging, with books and games. Our 7 yr old daughter loved the fairy garden, little play area, ponds with the ducks and other various little quirky wooden statues dotted about the fields. We'd like to stay again but in the yurt or one of the bell tents and try out the nearby walks as we ran out of time staying only 1 night this time.

We loved it here. Peaceful, quaint, simple yet lovely. Everything you need really. It would also be the perfect t location for a small intimate wedding for any one looking 👌

Nothing to dislike.

Stayed in the Waters Edge bell tent for two nights. Lovely welcoming hosts. Everything you need for a glamping stay. The kids loved being able to run around and it was nice to know they were safe as cars are only in the car park. The kids loved hearing the steam train coming and would run down the hill to watch it go past. There’s a lovely pub called the Ship Inn a few minutes walk through the fairy garden/ woods, good quality food by the river at a decent price. If renting a bell tent in hot weather I would recommend bringing a pop up gazebo for a bit of shade (plenty of shady spots around the site to find).

Stay in Stargazer bell tent, had an amazing time. Lovely tent, Jessica was lovely. Enjoyed the peace and quiet and booked again.

The surroundings are stunning. There are lovely views and it feels like a very natural site.

There are lots of hidden areas for the little ones to explore and it's just a short woodland walk to the the railway museum (with a park and cafe).

The carts provided are a lifeline, as you can't park at the pitch.

There are not many level tent pitches.

Check-in time seems very late (14:00) given that you need to leave by 10:30. Most sites let you arrive in the morning.

Bring your own wood if you'd like a firepit as it's very expensive to buy theirs (£10 for a small bucket of wood).

Wellness Woodlands is a beautiful location in the Severn Valley, across from the country park, but could be a million miles from anywhere ( as it is, it is only a ten minute walk into the village with take-aways and a pub). Hot showers, clean toilets and acres of space to find a secluded pitch with fabulous views. Fab location.
