Very helpful staff

Never arrived, after being on holiday since April 18 2024 had NO contact with home re appointments etc, and had told everyone we would not return until August B/H, out of the blue a txt from our Hospital @27/07/24 telling my partner was having surgery on the 30/07/2024 @ 09-00 as this was a Saturday could do nothing. read the T&Cs of the site too late to cancel but inquired if we could delay our stay and return on a later date. contacted the site, was told to contact Pitch Up, as booking made through Pitch up, contacted Pitch up was told its down to the site could not help, So we never arrived as headed home did'nt want a refund but just a change of date.

Blatant profiteering had our pitch fee's and expect had another unit on pitch double quick

Great stay, lovely site, very welcoming, very comfortable. Lovely clean facilities. Excellent location with lovely walks from the doorstep. Great field for dog. Will definitely stay again.

Wardens are regular people and very efficient, nothing was a problem for them, site is perfect for access to canal tow paths which offer excellent walking into Retford and beyond, toilets and showers are cleaned regularly.

This is no 5 star site, many areas are neglected and scruffy, scrap caravans are stored on the adjacent field and in view, not the cheapest site fees, but still charge for optional electric via top up card, if this was in the sensible price range I could understand the extra charge.

We came in May and liked it so much that we cancelled our planned trip elsewhere and rebooked to come here again!.

Like before, everything is spot on (apart from the hand dryer, which isn't very powerful!) Lovely big showers, clean toilets, well kept site, large pitches and friendly staff on site. If you prefer a level pitch, ask to be sited nearer to the entrance.

3 pubs within 30 mins walk. 2 are lovely and well decorated, whereas the other one (Kings Arms) is more of a "local" pub, but still friendly, albeit a bit noisy as it's quite small.

Retford itself (a flat walk taking about an hour, but with pit stops along the way!) is a nice little market town with plenty of the usual chains and some independent shops, plus many different pubs and bars.

A very well laid out site, with great facilities, an large field for the dogs as well as an easy walk to the Cheshire canal.
The toilets and showering facilities were extremely clean, and the area for waste and chemical area was clean, easy to use and well sign posted.
They also recycle all waste.
Julie and Nigel are very nice, easy to talk to and always available.
Security on the site is excellent.

Not really a dislike just an observation: there was no facility to having a strip wash cubicle.
But then again that could be done in your facilities!!

Clean, quiet, great location. Shower blocks and toilets pristine. Good facilities. Had a great warm friendly welcome. Will return.

Had a wonderful stay.
View from our pitch was overlooking the field, pitch flat . We had some lovely walks along the Chesterfield canal, dog enjoyed his stay. Showers & toilets spotless. Really enjoyed our stay will visit again
