Facilities are spot on hot showers very clean indeed!
Cafe is second to none, the full breakfast was superb 👌
Tackle shop had all the basics required and the hot flies worked a treat.
Fishery is well maintained with great access and plenty of room to cast a fly 10/10

paid on arrival for shepherds hut , lady on reception/cafe told us not to put to much wood in as it gets hot very quickly, get to hut absolutely freezing in there , lit the lights burner , sitting with coats on, waited and hour with lights burner on full still freezing, bed felt damp and has an off putting smell , no internet whatsoever, the door didn’t fit the frame there was a gap on the top cold coming through , the whole hut was extremely draughty, went back to reception and told her we couldn’t stay as was to cold no internet and log burner was not sufficient, having just paid, there was no asking if we would like refund or even partial refund , also the kitchen area at the back the kettle was completely covered in grease

Scenic, clean and tidy. Pleasant owner, quiet site. Good shower block.

Couldn’t find any bins for rubbish. Booked on Pitchup and were told there were no pitches available with electric. On arrival there were plenty of electric pitches available but we hadn’t bothered to take appliances as we thought we couldn’t hook up.

It’s a clean, beautiful and peaceful campsite with trout fishing. It is dog friendly. It is close to some hiking/cycling trails. It is also close to some towns and tourist attractions. The manager is very friendly and helpful.

Warm welcome, excellent modern clean facilities which were warm.
Cafe food was excellent, we didn't do the fishing but plenty were and had caught fish. Vending machines are a good idea. Plenty of dog friendly walks around site and off site. Will definitely be returning.

Would like pitches to be numbered and pitch areas to be defined more clearly.

The onsite cafe serves great locally sourced food,
The onsite fishing (if that’s your bag) is available to everyone of all ages
The site is located very close to One Planet Adventure, Mountain Biking Trail Centre (15-20 mins walking/ 10 mins riding distance, 5 mins max by car). The Blue Walking Route, is through the gate opposite the campsite at the start of the access road up to OPA. The cycle centre routes vary from Green to Black (same as ski slope grading), there’s also 3 walking routes from the OPA Cafe/Bike shop, bike rental is available.
The Campsite facilities are good with endless hot water & generally clean but IMO there are one or two small issues.(see dislikes) which would massively improve the experience.
There’s a fresh water tap outside the block along with a Chemical Toilet Disposal.
All in all a good site with limited hardstanding (so book early if coming in the summer) all the Hardstanding Pitches have a EHU facility as do many of the grassed pitches but lots of grass pitches are available with & without electric hook up.
All in all I always enjoy this site but with a couple alterations & additions it would go from Good to Great.

No individual pitch identification of any type for the Electric Hook Up (EHU) Hardstanding Pitches. This caused me personal strife & conflict when I attempted to park on one of the pitches which is clearly a two pitch area but the owner of the Motorhome on the next pitch had parked occupying both pitches, words were exchanged when I tried to explain that the pitch was in fact for two Motorhomes/Tourers.
The Hardstanding Pitches are limited in both number & length which doesn’t help the situation. Note to the Owners *** Please look to clearly mark & identify the Hardstanding Pitches with Pitch Number Posts & Boundary Lines. Also a Pitch Map would be handy on arrival.****
The Men’s Toilet/Shower Block requires some TLC, as the clothes hooks in the Showers were either missing or hanging off, leaving nowhere to hang your clothes or towel, also the showers require a stool or seating bench to assist with dressing & getting dry as the shower floor gets soaking.
During our stay the showers & toilets were clean but neither the floor or the bin were cleaned orcemptied but having said that, it was very quiet with very few fellow campers.
The tap by the Chemical Toilet Disposal is not working, even though there is a sign instructing you to ensure to rinse the waste disposal after use.
Grassed Pitches can get waterlogged after prolonged wet weather.

Gents showers room was a little musty maybe more ventilation would be useful.

The water to the Elson disposal point was not working. I informed site and they said they had a had a burst recently but world sort a water feed. Unfortunately the next day nothing had been done.

The pitch was flat and large and good EHU. Site wifi was great and next to my pitch. Showers were modern and great. Toilets very clean. Fishing was fun - several ponds to choose from. Breakfasts were great at the cafe and food value. Close to a mountain bike trail so great combo for us. Also a beautiful drive to Lands End and then Llangollen for a nice meal by the falls.
