The relaxes attitude to pitching

The check in is slow, cash only and all paper based. Have your booking email to hand.
Minimal toilets and washing up for such a big site, a long walk from the camping fields to the facilities block.
Everything feels very basic for the money.

We have recently chosen this site to store our caravan and stayed 4 times this season. We love the relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The surrounding area is beautiful and we have enjoyed some lovely dog walks. We cant praise Olive and Lofty enough for their help, welcome and friendliness. The sight of the beautiful dragonflies zipping through the clover has been a rare delight. Some reviews have mentioned the toilets being very basic but they are clean, functional and fit for purpose. Having a fridge freezer, microwave and kettle available is a thoughtful touch especially for those who want a quick stopover

Friendly atmosphere, relaxed environment,

Ridiculously stoney ground (really difficult to get the tent pegs In). Showers temperature was intermittent.

Staff very helpful and friendly! Great location with walks along the River Trent, we walked to Fiskerton to the pubs and then into Southwell the next day. Another pub only 5min walk into the village. Site was big with plenty of room in between pitches and great that you can pick your own spot, very flat too. Toilet/shower block was spotless and spacious enough. Just what we needed for a two night stay.

Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. 3 fields to choose from. One electric and the other two non electric. The site had good facilities including a handy freezer, fridge and kettles in the washing up area. Perfect location for walking and exploring. Walked to nearby village pub which only took ten minutes. Serving delicious pizzas. Also hired a fire pit which paid a deposit for and got back when returned. All in all definitely worth a visit!

Only 3 showers , could maybe add a couple more. Have to pay in cash so might be helpful for some to pay by card.

Location of the site is perfect and the staff were very attentive.

Closeness that some tents pitched at the side of you. It would be better to have marked out pitches.

The staff were welcoming and friendly and the site manager was very helpful.
Pitches are flat and easily accessible but we did feel crammed in next to other campers but the pitch was still long enough to give us the room that we needed. Space for children to play safely and the site permits camp fires.
The site is a short walk from the river trent where you access the Trent Valley way. Bleasby is the closest village and if you fancy a pint and a bite to eat then The Waggon and Horse is a 5 to 10 minute walk.

The site could do with investment, the toilet block is somewhat shabby and appears to have been thrown together with only a small number of toilets and wash basins. The
electric showers are nice and hot but the cubicals are very small with no where to put your belongings whilst you shower, thankfully the shower curtain stopped things from getting soaked.
They also need more general waste bins, disappointed to find waste piled on the floor and bins overflowing, with no option to recycle.

Pitch was flat

Not enough facilities on site for the amount of people on the site. Rubbish bin overflowing so nowhere to put your rubbish. Booked 2 electric pitches and was only given one. Water taps that didn’t work or that you couldn’t turn off. No grey waste area was told to just let it go onto the grass under the caravan

It's a lovely quiet campsite with a really nice pub less than a 5 minute walk away, a takeaway that delivers to the site. The hosts are lovely and very helpful.

Toilets and showers are very dated but clean and restocked regularly.
