Very clean and modern facilities.
Staff very welcoming and friendly and came to pitch to introduce herself and if we needed anything but also then left you alone which was good. Great location, nice walks to castle and local pubs and takeaways. They also moved out pitch to the top of the field where it was less waterlogged due to recent rainfall.

Being on a working farm, relaxed quiet atmosphere, toilets & showers very clean & modern. Very friendly site owners came & had a chat to make sure we were happy with our stay. Very close to coast & other attractions.

Would be difficult to get in or out if ground was wet.

Great location, on a working farm. Lots of animals about. The site itself is of historical interest, the 12th Century farm building having once house monks! There are some interesting old bits of carving and stone work in the walls if you take the time to look. Nice clean toilets and lovely hot shower with good pressure. There is even a massage function! (I used the block near the top field. I didn't experience the other block, off the farm yard). Lovely kind, communicative owners. I had a text from Celia the day before my arrival, welcoming me to the farm and saying I could choose my pitch on arrival. This was good as I then had her number, which it turned out I needed it, when my little van got completely stuck in the mud! She responded immediately and came to check the situation. Fortunately her husband, the farmer, was on hand with his tractor to tow me out! The same thing happened when it was time top leave. This time it was the farmers son - lovely young lad - who came to the rescue! In fact he was busy most of the morning, towing out bogged down vans! What a star! It was nice and peaceful in the night, and there was a good star scape on the one clear night. I will definitely choose this site again, especially as its handy for Rhyl, where I have family, and is within walking distance! Took me 90 minute to walk along the riverside path, which is an added bonus for bird watchers!

All 3 of the fields were extremely boggy after the heavy rainfall.
Signage on arrival is not very clear. It was difficult to see which way to go through the farm yard...I was heading for the cow sheds, until I phoned to check which way I should be going!
There is a lot of stuff in the farmyard to negotiate, close to where you need to turn to get onto the fields. I didn't have a problem, but when my daughter in law came to pick me up in her car, to go over to Rhyl for tea she had to reverse out and managed to back into a trailer piled high with metal fence pieces. I noticed some larger motorhomes had to reverse out, due to having been towed off the field backwards, and I could see it was a struggle. I can imagine it would be even more tricky pulling a caravan.

Excellent friendly hosts. Clean showers (despite the rain) lovely location- so nice to see the animals (remember your wellies as it’s a farm), easy walk to 3 pubs (the New inn did excellent food & the castle is a great wet pub) gorgeous views from site too!
The farmer was happy to tow us out each morning as we got stuck in the mud- it was VERY wet and stormy & we have a heavy van, we maybe could’ve got out but didn’t want to churn up the field.
30/40 mins drive to the beach, bodnant gardens (NT) and zip world fforest

We didn't like been near the large family group.

We loved our weekend at Abbey farm the 1st weekend of the season.
We were greeted with a lovely welcome from Celia and their dogs.
Spacious and clean toilets and shower facilities.
Kind and courteous and nothing was too much for her.
Our youngest son who loves nature and animals loved to pet the lambs and feed the alpacas

Make sure you take wellies or washable shoes. We took crocs it was very muddy as you could imagine being a farm and our great British weather
Lovely walks close by even a castle to see
