It's almost a wild camping vibe at splendidly set Camping La Fundición in the Seville province: deep in a woodland with nowt but the sound of nature all around; walking and hiking trails in the surrounds, and in a mountain setting very close to the Huéznar river and the Sierra Norte Via Verde route: outdoor days are very much on the menu here. However. If your camping preference is to have a secluded and peaceful setting but with a large side helping of facilities, amenities, hot water and tiptop food, ta very much, you'll find that well covered at this friendly site too. You might want to check out the restaurant to start you off: it's set swishly in a converted 15th-century building, with an excellently roomy terrace surrounded by a stone aqueduct where cool waterfalls flow. Fresh, local and home-cooked food is the vibe of choice for the talented team, which turns out cuisine such as grilled Dehesa meats, homegrown veg, Spanish wines, locally foraged mushrooms and slabs of local cheese. If you'd rather be a bit more casual after a heavy day hiking the Huéznar riverbank or the Sierra Norte, a snack bar is also to hand and a supermarket sells essentials and local goods. And if you've had an exceedingly heavy day hiking in the surroundings or the mountains? Stay around on site for a day for lazy swims in the 25-metre pool, or, if you can summon sufficient energy, join in with one of the regular activities arranged by the site team. Camping La Fundición is between the villages of Cazalla de la Sierra and San Nicolas del Puerto y Constantina, a kilometre from the station at Cazalla-Constantina.

Local town Cazalla-Constantina is at the foothills of the Sierra Norte de Sevilla which makes up part of the Sierra Morena range. Many walking routes close by: ask the site team for their recommendations. Among the best known destinations in the region are the Hueznar river and the Hueznar waterfalls, in the Sierra Norte Natural Park. Access an 18-kilometre trail along the river from the nearby train station for a splendid waterside walk, following the old mining railway line from Cazalla-Constantina to the mine at Cerro del Hierro, via a climb up the Huéznar valley. At the mine (if you're not too faffed), take the signposted two and a half kilometre walk around the area for more spectacular views. The Huéznar waterfalls are a couple of hours' hike or a 25-minute drive to the north. Their waters are a popular place for wild swimming as they stay cold even in the height of summer; picnicking and hiking are top picks around here too.

Понравилось The check in was super easy and you are able to pick your pitch. Toilet and shower facilities are immaculate and centrally located. Reception is open from 9am-11pm where you can buy your essentials and get change for the laundry (€3.50). The pool opens at 12 til 8pm, it's a 25m pool and 1.2m atcthe shallow end and 1.5m at the deep end. The onsite restaurant serves food between 12 noon and 4pm. The lifeguard is lovely and made our kids feel welcome.
Excellent value for money and we would return if we're ever in this corner of Spain again.
We spent a wonderful few hours scrambling through the river that runs alongside the campsite, a fantastic micro-adventure!

Не понравилось Restaurant closed at 4pm. It would have been lovely to have a later meal.
