Camping du Futur

Futuroscope theme park is quite frankly fab – there’s a good reason why more than 50 million people have visited the park’s rides and 4D cinemas since it opened back in 1987. Even more fab for guests at Camping du Futur, it’s an easy 10-minute drive from the site. If your small sorts go wild for wildlife, take them on a 45-minute drive to see the monkeys swinging through the trees of La Vallée des Singes; they’ll most likely also marvel at the falconry displays at Les Géants du Ciel (35 minutes away) as the big birds swoop close overhead. Châtellerault, half an hour away, is a good place for a riverside ramble, and has a great little motor museum with a display of cars and bikes from past times. Another ace place for a walk is Belle de Magné park (40 minutes away), a gorgeous 10-hectare garden that’s also got an adventure playground and petting farm for the nippers. And if it’s complete lack of activity that you’re after, the spa town of La Roche-Posay (45 minutes) awaits to pamper you in its thermal waters.
