Gostou Flat, large pitches. Cleanliness of site & amenities. Friendly staff.

Não gostou WiFi virtually non existent throughout the area so not the sites fault.

Gostou Stayed as a family party of 14 in 4 tent units all located together for convenience. Location within Peak District for walks etc. Flat pitches. Layout & size of pitches. Campers toilets close to the camping pitches. Ablution blocks & wash up area, clean & never busy. Quiet site (campers not aircraft) considering it was quite busy. Field for kids to run around on. Dogs must be kept on a lead policy.

Não gostou Free wifi was iffy by our tent & couldn't get on it at times but enough data to cover. Flight path directly above & at certain times it was quite noisy overhead.

Gostou Distance from Dunkirk ferry port (approx 45 mins) Ease & efficiency of check in. Tour of camp site on a golf buggy for you to pick your own pitch that suits your needs. Facilities are excellent...... All pitches have fresh water on the pitch that I saw Shower block / Toilets / Wash up area /Kitchen Dining area /Laundry Room / Site Shop / French Boules pitches x2 / Kids play area All pitches appeared to be flat & well maintained. Some were enclosed by bushes for extra privacy. A mixture of caravans, motorhomes, trailer tents & tents scattered around the main camping areas. Some static caravans & seasonal caravans on site also. Free WiFi which was very good throughout our stay. Very friendly owners & staff on site. Location is perfect for touring France & Belgium. Local town is approx 40 mins walk but worth the effort. Bruges approx an hours drive away. Ypres approx 30 mins drive away. Perfect site for a stopover or a few days to a few weeks. We stayed 10 days & it didn't disappoint. A special mention to the sites resident dog....what a character & very very friendly to all guests. Don't hesitate...just book it....you'll love it.

Não gostou Slight gripe but it didn't spoil our holiday & it depends upon the type of campers that you are on site with at the time.......the top small toilets / Wash up area away from the main buildings were cleaned once that we noticed during our stay. But it doesn't help when other campers leave the toilets & sink areas in a state that can only be described as a sess pit. Beggars belief how some folk must live. Moto cross race one Saturday afternoon that we could see from the site which was noisy & annoying through the day. Local festival at weekend playing loud music till 0250hrs both nights, again annoying but didn't spoil our stay & I guess they're not on every weekend?

Gostou The whole site from arriving to leaving was a fantastic experience. The staff are so friendly & helpful. The site is spacious, clean & flat. The facilities on site are superb, even with the arrival of 100+ on the second night, the showers, toilets & wash up areas were in tip top condition. 50p coin required for the showers for a 10 minute slot, which were very good. Toilet roll plentiful & very good quality unlike other sites. In fact the facilities are without doubt the best we've used in all our years camping & caravanning, and we've used a lot over the years. Pitches are very spacious & there are picnic benches freely available scattered around the site for you to use. The Wifi is fantastic & never dropped for me even with the extra folk arriving for the weekend. Pizzas, Burgers & Bacon Butties can be ordered via the site website & you collect at the site shop at your requested time slot (which was very reasonably priced & well stocked). Fire pits & wood are available from a member of staff who rides round the site on his quad with trailer asking if you needed any for the night. £8 for a net of wood, fire pits are free. The staff are available throughout the day & on call at night via mobile number & any unsociable behaviour / rowdiness is acted upon efficiently & quickly. A football goal is available at one end of the central grassed area for the kids to have a kick about. Surrounding views from the site are stunning & the local village of Clapham is well worth a visit & its about 40 minutes walk via the river walk just across the road from the site. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting the cows daily crossing the bridge whilst walking to & from the village. Other walks & information can also be found in the on site information room as well as free use of a freezer facility for ice packs etc. A real gem of a site & we will definitely return at our earliest convenience.

Gostou Relaunched our camping expeditions after umpteen years of being in a caravan. Decided on this site as its close to our daughters who was on hand if we got into any trouble setting up the new Air Tent. Site very easy to find via SatNav. Very friendly hosts upon arrival who explained everything on site & offered us various pitches to choose from. Pitches are massive & flat. As the name of the site suggests & clearly states in their description, this is a working farm so any daily routines required to be done by the staff must be completed for the welfare of their animals & their crops, not for the benefit of campers. To this end, our 2 Grandchildren who joined us for an overnight stay without their parents absolutely loved this site. From petting the pigmy goats to rounding up chickens & to even being offered to hand feed the lambs by the very friendly Eve. Our Grandson was in his element when the young farmer invited him into the cab of his tractor for a press of his horn. During our stay we were notified in advance by the owner who was very apologetic when telling us that the field had to be lined & bailed that evening as the weather was turning bad, so it had to be done that evening. Again, the kids loved watching the tractors churning up the fields & producing the bails of hay to be collected & stored. This was a great insight into farming for the little ones & the true meaning of a "working farm". I struggled with WIFI around the site (ID provider) but my wife didn't (EE provider). But this wasn't a real problem to be fair & clearly not a site problem. The facilities are adequate for a site in its infant stages but it is clearly obvious that there are ongoing building of extensions taking place for the future. The Gents facilities are basic but do have coin operated showers (50p piece for 5 minutes) which is clearly stated on the booking page & you can even pre order your 50p coins if you wish. Washing facilities are a bit of a hit & miss with the Belfast sink with hot water inside the ladies block & a Belfast sink outside the barn but only with a cold water pipe. We did experience no hot water in the ladies facilities at times but again, we managed & it wasn't a major problem for us. During our stay we saw the Goat Yoga taking place which was very well attended. We also asked if we could stay an extra night as we were needed at my daughters for an extra day & this was agreed without any hesitation. As we were the only campers on site, we were told by the host that we could both use the Ladies facilities instead if separate ones. These facilities were brilliant with extra touches that were very much appreciated. Overall , we found this site perfect for a visit to the area & on a working farm where the hosts encourage the little ones to get involved with the animals, run by very friendly hosts plus their staff members. We will return next year without a doubt & look forward to using the new facilities that are planned. Good luck to all at Owl Brown Farm for the future.

Não gostou Washing facilities at present just need re jigging but not a deal breaker & the plans are in place to rectify.
