If your holiday dream is to find a place where you can wander straight out through a pine forest to reach a white-sand beach, make it a holiday reality with a stay at Camping Playa Taray.
This park in the province of Huelva is between the coastal villages of Isla Cristina and La Antilla, and it’s only about 150 metres from the long sandy stretch of Playa Taray. Getting to the beach is a matter of just taking a stroll along the path through the woods, so you can get down there easily enough at any time of day (sunset is often a particularly good time…)
With a wild sandy beach just next door and miles more of that along nearby sections of the Costa de la Luz, you may well feel like you’re out in the middle of nowhere here – but in fact there are plenty of amenities (shops, places to eat, activity organisers and the like) about five minutes’ drive away in the two neighbouring villages.
And if you can’t bear to drag yourselves away from that beach? No problem – the site has its own well-stocked supermarket and a bar/café that can sort you out with snacks and drinks throughout the day. Modern amenities include toilet blocks and a launderette to keep all your kit clean. Dogs are welcome to join you on your holiday here, but will need to be kept on a lead.

Atrações locais
Clearly the beach is likely to be your number-one priority here – and so it should be, because you’ll be able to while away many an hour out on the sands, either relaxing right there by the site or wandering up to La Antilla to try out the inflatable water park or have a go at various watersports.
For other ways to be out in the open, there’s a great hiking/bike trail (Sendero de Molino Mareal de Pozo del Camino) a couple of kilometres away, or you can soak up the sea views while playing a round at Club de Golf de Islantilla (five minutes’ drive).
There are lots more beaches to visit along the Costa de la Luz, but for a change of scenery you might try a day out in Huelva (40 minutes), seeking out various sites related to Christopher Columbus and eating all the top Andalusian dishes in its restaurants.
Or how about a change of country? The border with Portugal is only about 15 minutes’ drive away, so you could potentially pop over to the little coastal village of Tavira (40 minutes) for lunch instead…
