It's safe to say you won't see a much more spectacular beach – anywhere in the world – than the sands around Camping Village Bella Sardinia. Set near Cuglieri in the Province of Oristano, this splendid site has direct access to a wide sandy beach, and is less than 10 minutes' drive from the sands and the famed and fab natural arch of S'Archittu: if you've never snorkelled in Italy, this is where to start.
The Bella Sardinia staff speak many different lingos, so there'll be no probs if you're after any tips about the best beaches to take yourself to, or any info about the site. The multilingual team also arrange a packed entertainment programme from mid-June to mid-September, such as club and disco nights, aqua gym, karaoke, sports tournaments and talent shows.
You'll probably spend most of your time on the beach accessible from Bella Sardinia or on the many spectacular stretches nearby, but the site is well set up for leisurely days at base too whether in or out of the water. There's a big pool complex with slides and a paddling pool, both lifeguarded in summer; a bouncy castle is handily set up next to this, and sun loungers are alongside the water for lazy sunny afternoons.
Bella Sardinia also has tennis courts and a sports court, a TV room and free wifi. The roomy restaurant-pizzeria serves up local and international food, in a friendly setting that'll sort you out for the evening after a long and sunny day at the beach.

Beach, of course: this is superb setting for Sardinian sandy days.
You could spend all your holiday on the sands and in the waters a short stroll from the site, but if you do want to venture further, S'Archittu beach and its famed arch, one of the biggest natural bridges on the island, is seven or eight minutes' drive away. This is a rightly popular place for snorkelling and swimming; if you don't fancy either of those, bring along a bite to eat and have a highly scenic picnic.
More beaut sights are around the town of Santa Caterina, a short drive away, and around the south-western corner of Sardinia and the ancient land of Sulcis. Kitesurfing, windsurfing and surfing can all be sorted here, along with snapping pics of the pink flamingos in the Sinis wetlands, near the Cabras and Mistras lagoons.
Tharros, the Roman archaeological site near the village of San Giovanni di Sinis, is about 40 minutes' drive away.
