Camping Village Settebello

Camping Village Settebello is in excellent locale in Lazio, by the sea and a short drive from the city centre of Fondi, an ancient place filled with piazzas, medieval alleys, shops, a 14th-century castle and Roman remains – the city was once a major stop on the Via Appia between Rome and regional Italy. And it must of course be pointed out that there's a golden glistening nine-kilometre beach just outside town too… Lying to the south west of Fondi and on the edge of the Pontine Marshes is Sperlonga, another coastal must with an esteemed and long old past (the emperor Tiberius lived in a villa here, possibly when he felt a tad too unpopular for Rome). Like pretty much most of the coast around here, the views are rather fab, as are the many seafood restaurants and the cracking beach stretching to the town's west all the way to Terracina. Terracina and its temples are also well worth a stop: if you like Roman roaming around ancient Italian history, also take time to wander around the town piazza which was once the Roman forum, and if you want yet more views, climb the massive Roman terraces in town for splendid sights over the coast and the Pontine Marshes.
