Andorra skiing, you say? Or sinking into the steamy waters of an ancient spa town? Or having heaps of mountain hiking, possibly a spot of ziplining or – just possibly – pitching up and staying put among these spectacular Pyrenees views?
Oui to all these at Camping Municipal Porte Des Cimes, a remote wildlife haven site set 1,400 metres above sea level between Andorra, the Pyrénées-Orientales and the Haute-Ariège.
You'll find not a jot of noisy activity or entertainment here: this spacious and mighty scenic mountain site is a place of peace for maximum relaxation – well, you'll need to be fully rested to tackle all those ski runs, ziplines and mountain hikes…
A tennis court is to hand for guests who might care to get a little active; if that's very much not your agenda on site-based days, mosey along to the cosy and communal reception area where there are board games and a TV for idle times, and postcards and a postbox so you can keep in touch with those back home. (If you're a modern sort who says Pah to the idea of snail mail, free wifi is around reception too.
So you can sort your eats and drinks, the site has a microwave and coffee machine in reception, and a picnic area and communal barbecues for meals alfresco: the latter option will probably be the one you plump for when you see these splendid mountain views.

Atrações locais
Hiking first? Several Pyrenees hiking routes run from the park, including the Sisca lake, Pédourès lake and Etangs des Bésines trails to keep you ambling for quite some time. After that, make for the ziplining centre 10 kilometres away in Porté-Puymorens, where you can also zip down the slopes on skis around 50 kilometres of skiing area and 35 runs.
Ski resorts as well as mountain bike trails, via ferrata, fishing, hiking and horse riding are all around at Andorra, about 50 minutes' drive from La Porte des Cimes, or you could tackle the tree climbing park, bouldering, and hiking and cycling trails of Vallée d'Orlu, less than half an hour from the site.
Too much? Wander the Orlu National Reserve instead to spy critters like bearded vultures and marmots, or take your eagle eyes along to the falconry displays at Château de Lordat.
On the way to Lordat at about 25 minutes' drive north is Ax-les-Thermes, the famed spa resort soothing bods since the 12th century. Those yearning for pampering have the vast Roman-style spa of Les Bains du Couloubret to assist; those still seeking action should come here for the leisure centre with outdoor pool and the town's three ski resorts.
