Here’s a place where you’re likely to be singing home about the furry alpacas, the sweet countryside views and days out in the wilds of Pembrokeshire. Sweet Home Alpaca is an eco-friendly farm site with 32 alpacas, 30 chickens, two dogs and two cats. As the farm’s newest residents, you’ll be in a top spot for getting back to basics and appreciating the Pembrokeshire scenery. The simple, well-presented farm field pitches are super laidback and relaxed, so there’s plenty of chilling out on the itinerary. Small and family-run, relaxation is high on the list of priorities for this base, but of course, the rural surroundings are ripe and ready for exploration and adventurous types will be pleased to find the surf mecca of Newgale beach five minutes’ drive away. What makes this such a great base? Well, the site can set up alpaca walks or meet and greets. Watersports, whale watching and coasteering are all a short drive away. You might see bats, birds or Philly the pheasant too (remember, this is a working farm, so you’re sure to hear the odd animal sound from time to time). Barbecues and firepits are also welcome (off the ground, please). The pitches are level, generously-sized and placed on the field edges, so there’s plenty of room for kids to play around. There are basic but well looked-after creature comforts, including a launderette with a washing machine and tumble dryer, fridge and freezer facilities, a shower, composting toilets and a washing up area. Free-range eggs, soft drinks and snacks are available on site, but if you need extra supplies, there’s a small food shop five minutes’ drive away. There are bigger shops, cafés, pubs, a leisure centre and a medieval priory in Haverfordwest, 15 minutes’ drive away. That should be plenty of fuel for hikes, bike rides and other countryside or coast excursions.

Gostou Me and my son loved our stay there! Great place and even greater people. Angela and her family were not only the nicest people but helped us out in a bigger way than they know. I would recommend sweet home alpaca to anyone and everyone.

Gostou Lovely small and chilled eco-campsite with a view out to the alpacas in the field. The people running the site were friendly. I liked that that there were eco loos which were solidly built, well designed and cleaned regularly. The warm shower was nice and clean too and worked effectively. Overall it was really great value and I would come again.

Não gostou Despite written signage, some people (especially at night) managed to put sawdust and paper in the wrong part of the compost loo, causing temporary blockage / slow draining - This was always cleaned and cleared daily. Maybe a visual sign is needed to reduce that occurring?

Gostou Great hosts greeted by angela and alex wild camping 2 compist toilets shower and washing up station really relaxed chilled out friendly site me and my husband loved every minute especially the meet n greet experience we'll informative and angela was fab and animals just lush can't wait to return
2 miles from newgale beach there shop 5 mins drive or larger stores n Chinese takeaway 15 mins drive ways
Dark sky's so on good night stars are amazing nothing to much trouble and thoroughly enjoyed our stay thankyou love kevin and yvonne x

Não gostou Only think disliked was that there was no electric hook up our phones died after a day but not their fault as power packs not strong enough we brought if it gad some sort charging station this would be a bonus but otherwise it's perfect

Gostou Absolutely loved this campsite! The owners are such lovely people too! We had amazing views of the alpacas which was very calming 🙂 You can also do an alpaca walking experience. The campsite is well maintained, so are the facilities. The night sky is beautiful and having seen so many falling stars, makes the experience even better! We will visit again next year 🙂 (hopefully)

Gostou So peaceful!!

A small and uncrowded site, with a load of alpacas as neighbours.
2 composting toilets, a shower and a sink with running water for washing up.

The opportunity to feed and walk the alpacas was excellent too and we would highly recommend.

Gostou Fantastic weekend camping at Sweet Home Alpaca. Angela and Alex were very friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. It was such a lovely relaxed vibe and camping next to their alpacas was an added bonus. We all very much enjoyed our 'meet and greet' session with the alpacas, feeding them and learning loads of fun facts. We were also super blessed that an alpaca was born whilst we were there. Thank you for a brilliant weekend, we would definitely visit again.

Gostou If you're after wild camping this is the place to go! Fantastic scenery and views, Angela couldn't have been nicer, we had some personal issues while we were there and she was fantastic. Very quiet and peaceful. Only one other family there when we arrived and we had a choice of where we would like to pitch. Great value for money.

Gostou We had a fabulous few days at Sweet Home Alapaca with walking the Alapacas themselves being the highlight. The site was clean and easy with a basic but practical compost toilet and shower. The owners could not have been more friendly and helpful and dealt promptly with any issues we had. It was an ideal base from which to foray out to discover other parts of Pembrokeshire.
This is a very simple site and not expensive. It was everything we expected it to be and we had everything we needed.

Atrações locais

Beaches, coastal walks, theme parks and ancient castles – that’s just a preview of what’s around Pembrokeshire. There are watersports on Llys-y-fran Reservoir (half an hour’s drive) and, of course, at the many local beaches. Just toss a coin between Broad Haven beach (15 minutes), Druidston Haven (10 minutes), Little Haven (20 minutes) and Solva (15 minutes). You might be quite the animal fan if you’ve chosen to stay at Sweet Home Alpaca. Handily enough, there’s another animal attraction within driving distance of the site. Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (35 minutes) has a mix of rides and animals (kids should be quite well-entertained). It’s one of a bunch of family-friendly attractions in the area. Others include Oakwood Theme Park (half an hour), Bluestone Resort (25 minutes), Heatherton World of Activities (40 minutes).
