Set in 10 acres of farmland on the north-west side of the Isle of Anglesey, Cymunod has mightily peaceful surroundings. If you’d like to wake up to spectacular rural views and glimpses of Snowdonia peaks, this is just the spot for you. It’s also a smashing base for active families (and their canine chums) looking to get out onto the beach as soon as possible – sandy Rhosneigr and Trearddur Bay beaches are both within 10 minutes’ drive, with lots of other options further afield, like Llanddwyn (20 minutes). For dogs, there is an enclosed area on site where they can exercise and use the dog bath. Should you ever tire of the beach (highly unlikely, really), the site sits beside a cycle route, and there are fantastic coastal walks all around the island with sea views and bracing fresh air. And if that doesn’t tire you all out, you can up the fitness regime in the on-site gym for an extra cost. This site may be in a quiet spot, but it’s also a very handy one. It’s easily accessible from the A55, which runs over the Britannia Bridge (15 minutes) from mainland Wales. You can stroll to Caergeiliog village shop (half an hour’s walk) for barbecue basics, with bigger amenities in Valley (five minutes’ drive) like a chip shop, convenience store and a launderette, should you feel the need for a spruce up. If cooking and shopping are not your idea of holiday fun, then you can find a whole host of pubs and restaurants within 10 minutes’ drive, and plenty more scattered across the island. On site, the facilities include a toilet and shower block. The site also hires out firepits and sells logs for the fire.

Gostou What a lovely campsite! Small, new and family run, nothing was too much trouble and Sioned was on hand to answer any questions throughout. Location is very quiet, we did find a small community pub in Bryngwran which was only a 20 minute walk.
Showers are £1 for 5 minutes, however this was plenty of time and they were clean and warm so had no issues there.
Toilets were cleaned regularly and the kitchen with sofas and TV was an added bonus! Would definitely return and recommend to others!

Não gostou Nothing really - only feedback would be more washing up sinks (even outdoor ones) would be useful.

Gostou Great site, extremely well equipped. Loads of clean, well maintained toilets & showers. (Showers need £1 coins) A kitchen, with Fridge freezers, a clean electric kettle and washing up facilities.
The dog exercise area and wash are a brilliant addition too. The owners were very friendly and helpful, they were very busy making sure everything was in excellent order.
We stayed on a busy bank Holiday weekend and the pitches still felt spacious and there wasn't too much wait for any of the facilities. Barbecues and campfires are allowed too.
We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this site to someone wanting a dog friendly, quiet little site with fantastic, clean, well maintained facilities.
Thank you for assisting with our fantastic weekend away!

Dog exercise area is a great, but would be better if grassed and not just sand.

Gostou retry spot with well manicured lawns and gravel pitch.

Não gostou The water was freezing cold despite the manager telling us to use them without coins, did not mention the water would be cold.
Then when we put €2 coin in expected running hot water for 10 minutes and was lucky to get 2 minutes!

I am so sorry that you had difficulty with our showers.
We got the electrician out to check the showers and they were working fine. These showers have a continuous supply of hot water from a large tank and normally people tell us how lovely and hot they are.
Did you turn the tap to the side for hot water? The electrician has suggested we put up hot and cold signs each side of the tap to make sure people are aware of this.

Gostou This was a brilliant find! We stayed here mid August with our 5 children in a tent. The pitch was great, lots of space. Lovely, clean campsite and the nicest owners! Super friendly and made us feel really welcomed. The owners all chatted with our 5 children, about what they had done that day, made them feel at home even if we were in a tent!
The kitchen was really handy, nice to play card games in there and chat to other campers. Very friendly vibe all round! Would absolutely recommend! Very well looked after!

As well as swimming and sandcastle-building, many of the local beaches have fantastic amenities for watersports. At Rhosneigr (10 minutes’ drive), you can join windsurfers and kitesurfers shooting across the waves on windy days – gear hire and lessons are available too. For a thrilling adrenaline buzz, hop onto a RIB from underneath the Menai Bridge (20 minutes) for high-speed adventures scooting down the coastline. Kids can feed lambs at Foel Farm Park (30 minutes) or take mini-train rides at Gipsy Wood Park (35 minutes, just over the bridge), and with scary jellyfish at Anglesey Sea Zoo (30 minutes) and fluttery butterflies at Pili Palas Nature World (20 minutes), there's loads to amuse them if the weather turns against you. For some grown-up time, up the cultural ante with visits to the National Trust-owned Plas Newydd House and Gardens (20 minutes) to view a famous mural by artist Rex Whistler, or head to stately Beaumaris Castle (30 minutes) for tours of unfinished medieval ramparts.
